What is good hair, what is bad hair. What is your definition. I don't be lieve in that term. My Dh swears that bad hair is unmanagable hair that can't be combed, it can't be tamed. I don't know what that means. Is there hair that can't be combed? According to my DH good hair is hair manageable. So what does this mean to you? I don't want to argue I just want your definition.

Good hair is healthy hair, there is no such thing as unmanagable hair. You have to learn what your hair needs to be healthy.

I never use the terms but..

Good hair to me is hair that has body, shine, and just looks healthy regardless of the texture or length.

I do say that girl has nice hair but her hair could be 4d and 2 inches long. As long as it looks healthy and/or stylish to me.

All hair can be combed IMO.

IMHO, I think all hair is good................how can what you were born with be bad? I hate when people say someone has bad hair, just because someone may not know how to care for a specific TYPE of hair doesn't make it bad.

Well when I was younger, I use those terms and now I'm older and found this site.....IMO hair is hair.......it's a learning experience on how to keep your hair healthy.....

I consider my hair bad hair.:ohwell:*dodges tomatoes*

I don't subscribe to the 'good hair', 'bad hair' thing so I don't mean it in a good hair = type 2 and 3 and bad hair = type 4 kind of way.:nono: I mean 'bad' is in not wanting to do what I want it to do. Constant dryness, breakage, tangling, matting, dullness etc. Looks good when I'm just chillin' in the crib and can't get it to ack right when I got places to be for nothing.

I honestly believe that healthy hair is good hair but my hair is far from healthy so . . . yeah, it ain't good.

I agree with you. My hair without the use of gels looks really thick and compact. No one ever say I have bad hair per-se but they tell me I have boy hair. Your hair look like a little nappy headed boy. Its too thick to be girl hair. The moment I up my moisture routine and use soft gels they are like your hair is pretty. They totally forget they called my hair "boy" hair. Once you learn to do your hair properly it will look better. Just have to figure out how.

I know many people associate "good hair" as that with loose curls and slick texture, but that's not how I define it. Personally I believe good hair is soft and healthy hair. If you are to stretch out even the kinkiest healthy hair you will find that it has much shine and feels soft and slick. Many of those "good hair" people dont realize that.

Good hair is 3c and lower numbers....Yeah I said it:moon:

I was just gonna say that.

Good hair= 1a to 3c, and long. But it can be short as long as it's not kunta kente hair. Hair you buy from someone or somewhere is still considered good hair, especially if it's shaved from a poor Indian lady who was paid a dollar so she can feed her kids, even though you paid 500$ for the lacefront that was made from her hair.

Bad hair= anything in the 4 category, especially if it's short. It's no longer bad hair once it's long, but that's only if the hair has been straightened, BKT'd or otherwise stretched so that the length is apparent.

Good hair is hair that is healthy (no split ends, not damaged). It doesn’t matter the length or texture. Bad hair is hair that is unhealthy (split ends, breaking off, over processed). it doesn’t matter the length or texture.

THANK YOU!

There is no such thing as good hair to me. Just because someones hair texture differs doesn't mean that they have good hair or bad hair. I've seen beautiful hair in all textures and lengths. Healthy hair is what matters most to me. I've seen some really busted heads but that doesn't mean they have bad hair. They just have bad hair practices or don't have the means or knowledge to know what works for their hair. Just my 2 cents.
