Hello ladies and happy New year,

What three tips can you give to other ladies that really helped with your hair growth. I was looking through sylver2's fotki and she listed three things that contributed to her amazing hair growth which were:
#1-never comb hair
#2-relaxer stretching
#3-NTM silk touch leave in conditioner used as moisturizer

Are there any other ladies who could give three of their most beneficial tips that helped them along the way?

I am just starting out so I don't have any just yet.

My top three

1) Deep condition your hair weekly
2) Mositurize daily
3)Minimize direct heat. I only rollerset now. I use my flat iron once in a blue moon.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

1. My trusted castor oil. My hair is super thick now thanks to Castor Oil.

2. Frequent washing. My hair loves the water

3. Twists- my trusted protective hair style and no real heat.

O.k since I can't say anything has helped my hair grow (yet my last relaxer was nov 10) I can name three things that are helping me keep it healthy.

1) co washing
2) keeping ends moisturized every day
3) not combing

Oh yeah this might be a dumb question but what is a C&D or was it C&G

1. Deep conditioning
2. Protective styles
3. Moisturize

Also I never flat iron my hair. Sorry I know you said three

1. Staying away from stylists

3. Sleeping with a satin scarf/bonnet and a satin pillowcase
I have been doing so bad with this lately. :look:

1) Deep Condition with respective moistuirzer/proteins for 30 min a week

2)THROW AWAY ALL DIRECT HEAT APPLIANCES (I'm sorry, did I scream that outloud?)

3) Moistuirzed your ends nightly with products that have water as the first ingredients - petroleum (sp) is a no no!

1. Eliminate heat, especially when hair is relaxed.
2. Keep hair and ends moisturized every day.
3. Protect hair when sleeping by wearing silk or satin scarves/bonnets and/or sleeping on silk or satin pillowcases.

You are right about numbers 2 and 3. A flat iron and blow dryer do nothing for me or my hair expect dry it out.

1. Frequent washing and conditioning (washing 2x wk)
2. Def. sticking to same products. Now that I look back, I was never really consistent in the conditioners or products that I used. Now, I just use what I see has been working consistently.
3. Airdrying - i've always done this mostly, but this really does agree with my hair.

Now, I really do see the importance of sticking to the products that agree with your hair. It's good when you realize what your staples are. I also don't need protein. My hair is doing fine with moisturizing conditioners alone.

1. Low manipulation {air dry wash and go}|
2. NO blow drying
3. Simplified product usage {trying things out one at a time}

Those are my three, except I use heat whenever I feel like it (which isn't often).

  1. Protective styling
  2. Keeping ends moisturized
  3. Using oils: as pre-wash treatments, baggy method, combined with a deep conditioner, etc.

1) Deep condition with honey and hemp seed oil for at least 30 minutes twice a week)

2) Moisturize with WATER and seal with oil.

3) Keep heat to a bare minimum.

1) Less is more
2) Wear protective hair styles
3) DO NOT get your hair trimmed unless you have split or uneven ends
