I am 33, I live in Atlanta, I work in software design and development.

-found LHCF in 2006, joined in August, following MizaniMami around. :)

-my hair is currently past my sholder blade in the back, above the sholder in the front, and i am batteling breakage and refusing to go to salons that cut off your APL hair to above the shoulders, i believe thats what they call TRIMMING. (sorry, had to vent)

Found LHCF about this time last year through a friend on the board stole her MTG grew some hair, bleached the heck outta it, cut it henna-ed it bright red- cut it (in my head 3-4 inches is a trim) came to my senses and now got a thick TWA with intent on getting to shoulder length stretched by December 2007 whew!

My story: Natural since 2003. Have reached BSL but always ended up cutting due to ends getting in really bad shape. Why? razors. Big Mistake. No ever told me it was bad and my hair stylist did it so I assumed it was ok. NOT!!!! I always thought I was doing something wrong with the care of my hair but with razors the damage is gonna happen no matter what. I just learned that about 2 months ago and about a month ago I decided to cut it 'all off' and start again with healthy ends. So let the journey begin!:)

So i found lhcf in 04 and stuck to it and grew my hair apl & then I started slacking off and forgot about lhcf all together.

In the middle of last year i started noticing that my apl pony tail was feeling kinda flimsy! In looking closely at my hair and seperating it section by section i came to realize that my hair was falling out! I had section about the width of 3 finger with only about 1inch in length.and my hairline was diminishing. I went to my normal salon to cut my hair to the bottom of my neck only the women was in such a hurry to go xmas shopping that she butchered my hair!!! She had all different layers in my hair with the longest layer not even coming close to the bottom of my neck. left side of hair was cut 3 inches shorter then the right. ( i coulda killed that woman!)

I didnt know what to do and thats when i rememered this site and became a paid member in early 07. Im now transitioning to natural.

I discovered LHCF in 2006 -- decided to join today. (I've spent many hours lurking though & most members seem to be positive, supportive, and funny...

:sekret: I have become a PJ since perusing this site & will be joining the PJs Just Use It Up Challenge).:look:

* I decided to start looking for other ways to care for my hair last year when it became excessively dry & I experienced excessive shedding & breakage. :( I've tried a number of conditioners & am starting to narrow down my staple products...regimine is still in flux.

* Degrees: BA, MS, & working on MBA

I really look forward to participating in some of the discussions.

  • My hair has just started touching my shoulders when stretched and this is the longest I’ve seen it since I was very little
  • I’m texlaxed and plan to stick with it. I under-process my hair every 2-3 months. It’s working great for me and I luv the loose but present curl pattern.

At that time I BC hair to neck length to start over
I am now tasting BSL and hope to be there at my 1yr mark
I am 27 and happily married with no kids
I have a BS in Nursing and a BA in Psychology
I love to shop and right now all my money goes to Louis Vuitton
My goal is to be a SAHM
I am turning into the biggest priss the older I get

I found LHCH last summer. Lurked up until the beginning of 2007....finally broke down and paid the $5 after seeing too many posts about discussions in the Off topic forum. :lol:

My hair is relaxed, fine, 4A..shoulder length. Next stop is APL.

I've become a pill popper since joining LHCF....I will pop a vitamin a blink of the eye.:cool:

Born in Memphis....grew up in PA and CA...returned to Memphis after I graduated highschool....er..uh...14 yrs ago. :look:

Currently divorcing....divorce will be final in a few weeks.:grin:
