Aw shucks!! :D Thank you EVERYONE for adding a post. It kind of feels like freshmen year at college and all the new students are sticking together and then we have the cool upper classmen coming to show us love!! Hahaha...(Note to all LHCF members...I am such a cornball...no really :look: ) Hello fellow newbies!! So what does that make us...graduating class of 2010 or maybe some might decide to double major and graduate in 2011.:lachen:

I really want to reply to all of those that posted, but there were so many. So here are a few replies...

Kinikakes: Wow!! You are one of those girls I think I about when I try to "look cute", but then I see you out an about and I'm like "Why did I even try" . No girl, you are beautiful, but what is more important is that you are beautiful on the inside and very intelligent. My best friend is getting her PhD from George Washington I believe in Cognitive Neuroscience (well that is the dept. that she is in) So kudos to you. Get it girl!!!!!

Loreal99: Welcome. When I read your post I keep hearing "This is Mr Bigs"..."How you doing Mr. Bigs" Haha!!

Lovenharmony: What up BK! Buh..Buh..Buh... Sorry I had to do it

GABeauty: Hello girl. What's up. Welcome....there is no turning back. J/K Ha ha!!!1

LadyEsquire: Yeah you get it too...Buh...Buh...Buh...:) Hee hee. I have a cousin in MIA. He lives right on collins by the beach and a couple blocks from some club. Anyway I went there, but I vowed not to go back until I got my body right. Hee hee. I went when I was 20 and it did nothing for my confidence (with all those half naked chicks walking around looking like they just jumped out a video:lol: )

Mocha5: Thanks. I do what I do! Let me stop. I just felt like an outsider and figured I wasn't the only one feeling like that...hence the thread.

Sistasgotgame: More like sistasgotlength. Dag, your hear looks B-U-T-FULL (Hope you read that as Beautiful and not But Full. Ha ha).

DLewis: Hello. We have not spoken, but I just feel this caring vibe from you. I know you are a nurturer (sp). I hope those close to you take care of you and see how special you are to them.

UMBlessed1: I absolutely love your hair. I can't wait to post some pics of when I first went natural so you can let me know what my hair type is. It is funny, when I was natural I never tried to wash and go. I always pulled it back into a puff. Now that I have seen yours, I kind of think it would have looked like yours. Anywhoo....you seem like a fun girl. You gotta recommend some books to me.

Vivacious(sp): Ooh I always wanted to take dance lessons. Especially salsa!!! Lucky girl.

Pinkskates: Thank you. Man, you just seem to be living your life to the fullest. I admire you for that (along with other things such as your hair and figure. Hot Damn!!! )

My bad ya'll. Did not expect this reply to be that long. Ooops.

Oh forgot to mention that I do not have any kids. Well I think I forgot to mention that. I adore children, but I don't know about having my own.

MIA is where its at. I was one of those running around half naked. Living a double life working in a law office by day and shaking my ass by night. Boy those were the days...really, those are stories you tell over cocktails. Anyway, I love this thread. It binds so many of us here that are new and who all LOVE LHCF!!!!!

I joined in 2006.....so that would make me....not really a newbie...but still a beginner! Kinda like closing out my "Freshmen" year in 2 months going into my Junior!....LOL

Welcome to LHCF ladies! Let's get it poppin~

Hey everyone, I'm a newbie, this is my first post!:D I've been lurking so long I figured it was time to go ahead and pay the little 5 dollars already! So here goes:

* Found LHCF in late 2005 or early 2006 (can't remember)
* Relaxed (currently experimenting in texlax, want to go natural so bad)
* Joined LHCF in 2007 yay!!
* I'll be 23 on the 29th of June
* Originally from Miami (oh how I miss home) but I just moved to Las Vegas
* Married with 1 son (love them to death)
* I'm in the military so my hair pretty much stays in a ponytail
* My hair is a few inches shy of APL

This is the best website I have ever found. My hair went from shedding in clumps and breaking constantly, To hardly seeing any hair in the comb. Thanks and nice to meet you all (even though I feel like I already know everyone!)

* Found LHCF in April 2007
* Relaxed 4A with one spot on the right side that I swear is 4z or 5
* Relax 2x a year thinking of switching to 3x a year because of breakage
* Joined LHCF in May 2007
* 28 years old
* Born and raised in Brooklyn (FLATBUSH)
* Currently livng in Germany
* Serve in the United States Air Force
* Married, w/two little boys 2 & 10 months (yes my hands are FULL  )
* Hair is almost brastrap length. It's really broken from the blow dryer!

**Well I joined in May 2007 and I think I jumped on EVERY bandwagon out there! I have MTG, BT, WGO, MN, I tried Biotin but started breaking out after the first week, so needless to say that was the end of that:) I tried the full head baggy, but I think it was to much for my hair every night. I swithced to baggying just the ends, and I love it. I already Henna/Indigo twice............Let me think what else have I done:lol: Oh, can't forget Co-washing (just to much for me, will stick to washing every 7-14 days) and trying to balance moisture and protein (still not good at this). So for me it's been a VERY BUSY month! Every time my husband passes the computer room he says " you still reading about hair?" . I went from never being on the computer, to being on it all the time! When my boys go down for nap time, it's LHCF time for mommy! Although I get good tips from Everyone on this site, I can't go before I give shout outs to Sylver2 (Haircare) Kinni Kakes (Haircare) Sareca (Henna) VVixen (making me into a true PJ with all of the great products) DLewis (Alma oil, I'm in love) darkempress (baggying) Isis (haircare)...So many more!! I really appreciate the time you ladies take to document your steps! You don't know how much it helps those of us that are Clueless. I think I have a pretty set routine right now and I'm ready to GROW! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! Happy growing ladies!!

I'm not exactly new, since I've been here since 2004. But I've only recently started posting, so I might as well be considered new. Here I go:
  • Found LHCF in August 2004
  • Joined in September 2006 ... but ...
  • Made my first post almost 3 years later in May 2007 (I don't know WHAT I was scurrrrrred of ... everyone is so nice and helpful here)
  • Just turned 39 yrs old in May
  • Originally from Nebraska but have been livin' in Atlanta for 6 years (I'm never going back)
  • B.A. in Visual Communications - Digital Design (same as lovenharmony ... hey girlie )
  • Also like lovenharmony, I'm a Princeaholic too (wow ... we have a few things in common!)
  • Single, no children
  • The longest my hair has been is mid-back as a teen
  • Currently trying to go natural. I have a twin sister who is already natural, so she's my hair inspriration in real life. I have many other hair inspirations on this board ... too many to name!
This was a great thread idea, SimpleBrooklyn. Thanks for starting it. :)

Oh ... and nice to meet everyone!

Hi everyone!

Found LHCF about 4 months ago
Joined about 6 weeks ago?
Born in Louisiana, now in Houston
I will be 31 next month
Engaged, three daughters 12, 10, and 7
6 months natural today! Woohoo!
I have no idea what my hair type is.....
I am loving my hair more and more each day.

* Found LHCF in November 2002. Was going natural then and don't remember many natural heads on the board at that time.
* Joined this month, (paid my $5 to use the search engine) and started posting. Had just decided to try to flat iron my hair and wanted to be sure and not damage it in the process.
* Probably one of the oldest here at 50
* Married with one child that just graduation from high school, off to college in August!
* This has to be the longest my hair has been since I was about 7 (my first relaxer and the end of my long hair) Don't know whether to claim APL or BSL but anyway I'm happy with my length and don't want to lose it!
This has been the friendliest board I've ever been on, there's a certain feeling of mutual respect that is really nice.

Okay, I am not so new either, but I'm jumping in anyway.

*found LHCF in December 2006
*joined LHCF February 2007
*44 years old
*born in Los Angeles live in Long Beach CA for the last 24 years
*B.A. Liberal Studies; currently working on a M.A. in Humanities (thesis colonial women writers) - going back to school is hard
*high school English teacher
*very happily married
*3 children and 2 grandchildrenand the world's best dog
*I joined because my hair broke from below shoulder length to above my ears in less than a month. Doing C&G, it's grown back to almost (an inch or so away) my lower neck.

I really have to thank the ladies here - I was so desperate when I first found this site with my hair falling all over the floor and everywher else. Now it's so much better and I know so much more about caring for my soon to be relaxed again hair. Ladies, your kindness and knowledge, not to mention your generosity in sharing those, has been such a gift to me.
