i used to take my vitamins at nite and was going to start again only because i'm starting to fall off with taking them daily. this thread only makes me feel stronger about switching to evening pill popping:)
 
Hmmm this is very intersting...I started back on vitamin regimen last week, taking them at night...only because it was easier to remember. And my nails are already super hard and growing fast...I keep filing them!

I'm not getting that super yellow pee I used to get when taking them during the day.
 
Another thing you can do to improve the absorption of your vitamins is to crush them up. You can do this with just about any vitamin as long as its not time release or have an enteric (I think thats the right spelling) coating. Click here for more info.
 
How do you know if it's time released? I currently try to remeber to take my women's one-a-day. flax seed oil, grape seed extract, kyolic garlic pills, biotin (which i may kick to the curb because of pimples) and hair, skin, & nails vitamin from whole foods.
 
I've always taken my vits before bed as well because that's the only time that I can remember and when I always have access to them. That's the very last thing I do before getting into bed.
 
is it safe to assume that the ones that are'nt crushable (like my flax seed oil because it's a gel capsule) those are the ones that are time released so i will have to take those in the morning?
 
Thanks Candy C. I was a chronic morning pill popper. I took them to work, was chugging vitamins and water on rounds...too much. I'll start taking them at night. Hey, I'll start tonight...
 
the label will be marked time-released, which means that coating allows for slower absortion.

a gel cap is not automatically time-release.

in fact, your stomach acids can dissolve quicker than a hard pill.

I'm trying to space out my vitamins so that I have a continous level in my system.

for example, if my goal is to take 500 mg. of vitamin xyz - then I strive to take one 250 mg dose each 12 hours.

otherwise, I think taking all the pills at once would not get fully absorbed as it passes thru my system like a meal.

that's why if I take all of my B vitamin at once, I'll get that bright pee but later in the day it back to normal (meaning some was wasted).
 
Oh boy, you guys got me so hyped. Now I am going to take my twenty-something vitamins at night. :grin: Yeah, I want midback length that badly. I have been faithfully popping those vitamins every morning. It will be easier for me to do it at night. I will start tomorrow. I hope I see the same great results that everyone else has been experiencing.

This really does work. I was taking my vitamins at night out of sheer convenience and I have great results.:yep:
