Frustrated, naturals how do you tell if your hair is growing?

I gently pull sections of hair to see where it stops. Otherwise I don't worry about hair growth too much.

that is what i am doing too - just pulling it to see where it stretches to and taking pitures to chart the progress..this is hella fun...and when you see results it is so motivatin and exciting...it is harder to tell with our hair because it is so curly...

Update: I noticed that as my hair grows it gets heavier and heavier when its wet.

Is that a complaint or an observation? I personally like the feeling of all of the hair weight when my hair is long. At least you know it is growing thick and healthy!:)

Yeah, same here. If anything I KNOW it's growing because that's what hair does, so I don't go crazy over it.

I don't comb it for a month at a time. I see the growth from the roots because I know I braid it securely from the scalp.
