Forced Into A Low Maintenance Reggie

It's official I am now on a low main. reggie. Since I started work 2 weeks ago full time and I go to school full time, I have had no time to do all the extra stuff I like to do to my hair. I only get to dc 1 time a week, although I have been keeping the hair moisturized .

I did a curly rollerset over the weekend and I have stretch this rollerset out a whole week where usually I would have rewashed and styled by the 3rd day. I probably won't get to dc again until Friday.

Other ladies on low main. reggies can you tell me a little bit about them? Successes and failures. I guess the good side of it is it's the first time I've actually been able to go a full 2 weeks without heat, lol. I'm doing protective buns about 90% of the time because it's quick and easy.

well, i've been wigging it off and on for the past month now. I did a twistout and a puff only because it was the weekend and for once I didn't have anything to do (i need a life). But anyway, at night, i co-wash and apply my MT or OCT (I alternate); sleep with it overnight; wake-up and rinse (if i have time, i do a moisturizing DC); use my leave-in and seal with oil; slap some braids in; throw on the wig (blend it of course); and out the door. This way I don't have to wake up extra early every morning to try and rollerset my hair or anything like that. Plus, I think my hair thrives when i'm not bothering it.

simple reggies are the best.I'm betting you will get a good amount of gowth from just leaving it alone.Just make sure you DC.

When I was relaxed, I rollerset once a week, nothing during the week. The key for me was a good deep condition and a medium weight leave-in conditioner. Something too heavy would make me want to wash again; something too light would cause me to add to much heavy oil to the ends and make me want to wash again. Also, because I did my hair once a week, I found that using setting lotion was beneficial because it allowed the set to last longer. For daily maintenance, I'd stick to a very light moisturizer (I'll be honest, I didn't really know about them when I was relaxed so I didn't use one) and sealant (I used Profectiv's healthy ends every other day or every 2 days). My goal was to keep my hair hydrated and swingy, without looking weighed down, during the week. Good luck!

Girl, I am on Low Reggie of once a week hair care and Phony Bunning. Combing only on wash day and just light to low manipulation. Weekly Co-Washing, Deep Conditioning and Set.

My goal is to maximize growth during the summer and not really "fuss" with my hair. Just keep it on the "low" keep it clean, well conditioned and well moisturized.:yep:

I wash, DC and rollerset once a week. Some nights I moisturize and seal before i pin curl and cover with my scarf. Towards the end of the week when my set needs to be redone, I protective style.

That's it.

Rollersetting is key for me. I don't have a set schedule to moisturize my hair, I only do it when it's dry.

Low maintenance regimens are great.

I wash every two weeks, wear my twist-out for two days, then wear my wig until wash day rolls around again.

I do moisturize my ends every day.

I find that my hair is doing much better (in terms of growth & moisture) now than it was when I was fussing with it every minute.
