Midnitecurls' album is one of my favourites. She's definitely an inspiration for me!

...but would I be Politically Incorrect if I pointed out the fact that 'ole girl is mixed w/ filipina and she's got type 2-3 hair?:sekret:
There's no way her hair is a 2 anything. 3b/c I'd say.

For instance folks who are growing out a twa aren't going to look like her in the next 2 years. Not saying their hair won't grow, but it ain't gonna look like that. :nono:
My hair type is probably similar to hers and I can assure you my hair wont be looking similar to hers in 2 years either! 4-6 years maybe...

What is natural to some, is not natural to all.
'Natural' hair = hair unprocessed by chemicals. Natural does not automatically equal type 4 hair.

I quote from the title of the LHCF homepage:
"Dedicated to helping women of color reach their hair length goals"
I think women of colour includes mixed women.

I quote from the title of this thread:
"for those who want natural inspiration"
NOT
"for those who want type 4 natural inspiration"
NOR
"for those who want black, not mixed, natural inspiration"

And the above quote is coming from a type 4 person, not to mention another poster with type 4 hair agreed w/ me earlier. ;)

Well, you know I agree with you, honeybunch... you are right as usual...

That's right! I think a lot of people forget some of us that have been on this board for a few years ARE mixed!! That sucks that now people apparently are discriminating who is "black" enough on THIS board!

already told another member that I am not good w/ hair typing & had to refer her to my siggy and now I am telling you the same.

My hair type is probably similar to hers
I have already stated that her hair type is not far from mines either.
..... and I can assure you my hair wont be looking similar to hers in 2 years either! 4-6 years maybe...
I already told you I'm not good w/ hair typing, but from looking at your avatar, your hair doesn't look like hers to me at all. Or maybe my eyes decieve me, behind this computer screen. :ohwell:
But I'm about to look at your album, for more clarification, so don't mind responding to the afformentioned.

I quote from the title of the LHCF homepage:

I think women of colour includes mixed women. I never said she wasn't a woman of color due to the fact she was mixed. Another member happened to to state that she was a black woman who proved that we (black women) could grow long hair, and I just pointed out that she was not ALL black, but HALF black. Thus, she proves that MIXED women can grow their hair long. And NO I'm not saying that a monoracial black woman could not do the same.

I quote from the title of this thread:
"for those who want natural inspiration"
NOT
"for those who want type 4 natural inspiration"
NOR
"for those who want black, not mixed, natural inspiration" I was not trying to turn this into a hair type/color type debate. I just simply stated that some folks who don't have her hair type might not find the thread very motivating. Then folks obviously started gettin offended, and now Koffies in the hole w/ some folks for pointing out what other members might say/think.

My sentiments in blue

Midnitecurls has beautiful, long hair! Her ethnic background and hair type does not change that in any way.

I completely agree with this...

why can't we all just stop arguing/debating and agree that this lady has some gorgeous hair...really people...thats all it comes down to

She does have beautiful hair, but on her site she says that she stretches it by putting it in braids at night.

ETA: The only reason why I'm saying this is because someone said that her hair was this long curly. I wouldn't want anybody to equate that with "with shrinkage".

You're right Koffie. I have been admiring MC's hair for a while now. This is probably the 50th time I viewed her album and she deserves ALL the attention she is getting, and I don't believe AT ALL that her hair type or ethnicity discredits her achievements in ANY way. Growing hair that long (relaxed OR natural, whatever hair type) is NOT easy. But when I did open the thread and saw it was her again, I was kinda disappointed. I didn't want to admit it for fear of being looked at the wrong way. I was like, "oh another picture of a 3a/b type (whatever she is) for us to admire.":ohwell: That's why I was reluctant to post in this thread to say that Koffie's sentiments are true, for me at least, because I didn't want it to come off the wrong way to some people b/c I do LOVE her hair. Plus, I didn't want to keep taking this thread in a direction it wasn't intended for-- which was to shout-out MC's hair and inspire us all.

MC's hair is GORGEOUS, but I honestly love looking at type 4 natural long hair more and I have always said that ONLY b/c that's my hair type. When I see them on the street or on the train, I just look with admiration and awe and I just can't stop smiling.:) And then I say, "Now that's what I'm talking about!" :D Just to let everyone know, there ARE more type 4 naturals with long gorgeous healthy hair around in real life and they are a beautiful sight to see! :yep:

MC responded to the shoutout at LHC & says she's growing to tailbone. She says her relatives (aunts on her black side) have now gone natural. She is an inspiration for all women of color. JMHO

Yes she and her hair is beautifulll (that's with 3 L's). I have to agree with Koffie though. Where are the type 4a/b natural gurlz at with waist length hair???

My sentiments exactly. Her hair is lovely. And, on that note.....I wanna see a 4a or 4b or even 3c/4a NATURAL waistlength pic. I wanna know what that looks like in real life. Not sure I've ever see one. Has anyone here seen it in real life?

I really hate to burst any bubbles, 'cause this thread is going rather well, but would I be Politically Incorrect if I pointed out the fact that 'ole girl is mixed w/ filipina and she's got type 2-3 hair?:sekret:

although I do think her hair is beautiful, I don't believe some of our non-2/3 type hair members would/should be deeply inspired by this album. We're talkin' genes folks. ;)

For instance folks who are growing out a twa aren't going to look like her in the next 2 years. Not saying their hair won't grow, but it ain't gonna look like that. :nono:

Sorry if this post is offensive to anyone.

You have a point girl ...... I'm a 3c and ain't no way my hair will grow that long in 2 -3 years LOL... heck.. my mom is a 2a and her hair has NEVER been that long LOL! It's all in the genes!
