For those who want a CHI iron..

I am not a big fan of flat irons but I am trying to stretch my relaxers so my hair dresser took out my rollers and flat ironed my hair with her chi iron instead of blow drying. It was beautiful. I decided to buy one but I've found them for $90 and up. Because of the price I've been slow about buying one. So the other day I am in Sally's and you know they have there generic version of everything in that store, well I found their version of a chi iron for $69. I bought it and my hair looks just like it did when my hair dresser used hers. Just wanted to share....

I saw those the other day at Sally's but really didn't pay attention to it. Does it have variable temperature settings?

I just bought the Sally's version and I love it. I used it Monday night and my hair is silky and shiny. I washed my hair and blowdried. Then I used the flat iron for my roots. I put soft curls in my hair with it. I love it.

Thanks for sharing. I have been waiting out on reviews for this once. I had a post about it a little while ago and not too many were using it yet. I wish I had a Sally's discount card :).

Can you share what us exactly what your technique is please?

I roller set my hair. Took the rollers out and ran the flat iron through each section. My hair was so shiny and soft. It came out beautiful. I am hooked! My roots feel like I have a relaxer:D

Does it say on the box that it's a generic version of the CHI iron? I don't want to get one and find out it isn't. Oh yeah, I've wanted one for a while and the price bothers me as well.

A new stylist I visited last month used a chi iron on my 13 week post relaxer hair and I too was amazed but I feel it to be against my religion to go out and purchase a flat iron when I know better than to use heat.

I'm feeling guility cause I have wanted to purchase one since she used it cause my new growth is way out of control by week 10 and I want to stretch for 14 weeks next stretch. So I suppose in the name of stretching this could potentially be a good investment.

Just rationalizing in my mind

Thanks for the review!! I was planning to purchase a FHI iron for my birthday--which is in a few days. But, I'll check out this iron!

Plus--I have a lil green sally's beauty club member discount card, so I can get a lil off the price!

yah!! :D

Wow..it's almost the same price as the HAI that Vevster purchased. I was thinking about getting the HAI since it was cheaper than the CHI.

Thanks for the information. I will definately look into it since I'm transitioning, and I have a Sally's discount card.

Yes, it does say that. Its a generic white box w/black writing. It states on there that its the generic version of the CHI iron

All I can say is that bought my CHI about 2 years ago at the recommendation of my stylist and I love it. The extra $20 may be worth it to buy the CHI. Also check ebay they did to have the CHI's too.
