I have warm weather/cold weather routines so its different per the season:

My Routine:

Summer Routine:

In summer, I cowash 3 days as well as use shampoo every 2 days. I always rinse my hair on days I work out irregardless if it was a wash day or not.

I deep condition once a week. My hair loves protien so to keep it happy I use keraphix in my DC every week. Its fine by itself, if you have the right shampoo with it. My daily moisterizer also has protien in it. I've never had a protien overload, though my hair just dosen't like certain types.

I use a light moisterizer, and seal with oil daily. I bun or pony. I rarely do twistouts or bandu knots because my hair poofs so bad with any type of humidity.

I may flat iron twice during warm months (I feel like my brain is baking with all my hair down).

Winter Routine:

In the winter I wash 2 days a week Sometimes I go to 1 day a week if its really cold out. I only cowash if my hair feels dry. I deep condition every week.

I use a heavier daily moisterizer in the winter. I will also use Elasta QP Mango butter on my ends. I seal with oil and bun.

I also tend to carry rosewater and glyerine because forced hot air tends to make my hair drier than usual.

I still rinse my hair when I work out but I also try to get it dry as quick as I can. I rely a lot on my bonnet dryer in colder months. I can't stand to look at the thing in warm months.

I may wear my hair down Once a month during the cold months. My head don't feel like its baking and I can hold styles much longer.

Products:

Deep Condition:
I mix a few things together that my hair likes to formulate my DC.

1 ORS Replinishing Pak
1 teaspoon Coconut oil
2 tablespoon keraphix

Moisterizing leave in:

This summer I'm using Lacio Lacio. I tend to switch up in the summer because my hair can sometimes act straight up crazy. Last summer it was Fructis Sleek and Shine. It worked really well then, it didn't work well this summer.

Chi silk infusion is a must for my ends in the summer.

For winter I go back to my standby which is Care Free Curl Gold (not the spray, thats too drippy)

I keep a bottle of rosewater and glyerin in my purse so I can remoisterize when needed.

Oils:
In summer I use a mix of organic coconut and jojoba. I like this mix (though sometimes the coconut I use can be a bit strong smelling)

In winter I use straight jojoba or a mix of amla and jojoba.

I currently relax 3 times a year. This year I'm trying to make that only twice a year. I'm a phytohead through and through, I can't use lye, it eats my head alive.

Phyto is expensive, but then again, so is going to the salon!

I also use a dark brown demi color on my hair after relaxing.

Combs/Brushes/Hairdryers:
I only comb/brush my hair about every 4 days. It was hard to start that routine but its really done wonders for my hair. I can lose an entire poodle when I brush:lachen: Though there are times when after 4 days I see 2 hairs in the brush.

Either way I don't sweat it much.

Oh and about my brush, I use and Denman D4. IMO, its more of a fine comb than a true brush, and it really helps to keep my hair nice and smooth. I have a big comb to bring bigger tangles under control, the denman makes 4 passes on my head and thats it.

During the winter I rely on my bonnet dryer (a lot) if I'm going to actually flat iron or hot curl my hair, I do blow it dry first and I use a weak mix of lottabody and chi silk infusion. I don't do hairsprays because my hair hates them (they flake anyway)

I wear a bonnet every night as well as sleep on a satin pillowcase.

I do not normally trim or have a set schedule for it. If I feel like I need to cut a few inches off, I do, end of story. I'm just about ready for the next hurdle that I've been holding off which is bsl. guess I'll know the next time I relax.

What works for me will not work for everybody. (a given)

I think you have to find your own rhythm with your hair (most people do after they've been here a while)

In the summertime I wash more frequently. I shampoo about 2x a week (sulfate free poo) and if I have to wash more often than that, I apply oil to dry hair and rinse in the shower and condition.

For styling I airdry with conditioner as leave-in and oil and do a braidout for waves and smoothness. I tie on a scarf to get roots straight. In cooler weather, I rollerset my hair with Lacio Lacio and flat iron my roots with CHI Infusion or Fantasia IC pink serum.

In fall and winter I wash only 1-2x a week (just 1x when it's really cold.) I self relax every 10-12 weeks.

My favorite products include:

Dabur Vatika and Amla oils
Trader Joe's Nourish Spa conditioner
HE LTR conditioner
Organix conditioners (Coconut Milk, Vanilla Silk, Shea Butter formulas)
Monoi Tiare Coconut oils
ORS Replenshing Conditioner
LeKair Cholesterol Plus
