I wore it as a boy cut because I ws just tired of all the weave and perm. I didn't care about the length. I just made sure my makeup was on point- and I stood up a bit straighter and more confident- like a lady. With my shoulders pulled back and my walk on point, people really responded.

I was comfortable with both my BCs. The first was in 2005, and I cut it down to a fade. My then-fiance and now DH had more hair than I did. :lachen: Loved it! Kept cutting for the next 7 months.

My second BC was this past March, and I found myself being a little more self conscious because of the length. Having hair was hard. I didn't know what to do with it. No hair was much better to me...but I learned within about 2 weeks time and the couple of times I have hid my hair, I moved pretty quickly to get my own hair back again.

I really do enjoy the growing process at this point in my life.

It didn't bother me when I bc'd on 09-07-08. I was rather relieved. I felt fresh, new, whole. I enjoy taking baths, showers getting into the pool and going to the beach and not have to worry about getting my relaxed hair wet or messing up my wraps etc. I think short hair can be rather sexxy, if you rock it right with the right clothing, accessories and a lil makeup. Just learn to embrace your NEW AND BOLD LOOK! I think you and your hair are BEAUTIFUL! Good luck on your journey!

Cosigning...I BC'd (actually shaved) in May of this year and was very pleasantly surprised with all the positive responses I've received and still continue to receive - even at my "corporate" job (which admittedly, I didn't wear my BC to work until my hair started growing back in)...and from men too! The majority of people tell me that I should leave my hair this way. Like Finally Free, after BC'ing I felt finally free and liberated...it's just an amazing feeling!! :yep:

I think a big part is being confident about it. Even without the positive feedback I would have STILL rocked my BC. Very short hair absolutely does not mean that you look like a man. Femininity can shine through anything. Currently, my hair is one inch long...when stretched.

When I BC'ed I could put my hair in a baby puff, and that is what I did for the majority of the time and updo's. Until I realized I could not rock these looks forever I would use accessories in my hair such as flowers to dress up the look. After a while decided to leave it out. My experience is that everyone around me was used to me having long hair and I just didn't' want all the excitement and overreaction about my hair so I hid it.

i was nervous about the bc. but i think in the end i looked ok. so i didnt have much of a problem wearing my hair out at 1-2 inches :)

luv ur hair- ur one of my hair sheros!! o- i've got to ask u something, i'll pm:blush:

I don't know how long my hair was when I cut it. but it was about top of the ear. I think it also matters if you do mini-chops or bcs. I did 3 chops. My 2nd chop involved me chopping just the back. When I did the final chop 1 month later I had gotten used to the idea of shorter hair because I spent time with my hair being at it's shortest ever. El is the limit for me because that's the shortest I have ever had my hair when straight.I did wash and gos to keep me sane this summer.

I BC'd in May. Shaved all the way down. I loved the short look. Now I am about 3 inches and I am not liking the way it looks. I don't want to cut it down because it's getting cold now and it will defeat the whole purpose of going natural and thats......long, natural hair.

For me, NL is the shortest I would wear it out if I were growing it out from a short cut. So many hairstyles you can do with/without heat.
