I have mixed emotions about this. I love the style but the pain was NOT worth it IMO. The YouTube video of the lil' girl who was getting her hair pulled during a combing session with her mom (which some called abuse on film) kept running through my head. Those Yt folks must have felt my pain because I really wanted to cry no joke. They weren't tight but the parting and detangling hurt. My scalp is not used to that as I'm very gentle with my hair. I feel like I suffered a setback. The amount of hair she must have ripped through is scary to think about.

I know exactly what you mean. The last time I got my hair cornrowed I almost cried, too. It was so painful! And those braiders did my hair really tight. AndI couldn't take them out because my arm was broken. That's the only reason I got them in the first place. I hate the salon and never go. That's why I went natural in the first place.

Your flat twists came out really beautiful, though.
