Hate the CHI iron....sorry everyone. But I cannot get it to do well on my hair...I think for me, I need something that I can adjust the temperature to because I'm not a flat ironing expert yet....I'm relaxed...

I have returned two Chi irons....the original and the Ultra Chi....

Thinking about getting the Sedu...

I have a Jilbere Titanium and I was not pleased with it. Then I bought a Babyliss Tourmaline 500 which works a lot better than the Jilbere. Now I have a FHI Runway and it is marvelous!

I have the original 1" Sedu and im in love!!! I've tried Chi and it sucks compared to Sedu. the plates on the Sedu are as smooth as glass and there's no snagging at all.

Love the Maxiglide/Miniglide. Allows you to get roots and edges straight without burning. Just bought a Sedu, but haven't used it yet. Also have a Babyliss that I use for BKT. It works good for the price. :yep:

You're natural? Do you have the original Maxiglide or the newer MP/XP, the new model is diff it has a bigger water reservoir and it goes up to 450 F.
I'm considering which iron to buy cause I sold my old maxiglide, It's basically between the new Maxiglide XP and the Babyliss Steam flat iron. I like the idea of Caruso rollers I just don't know how long it takes to steam 12 rollers, but caruso seems like the best and safest hairsetter so far. Actually after trying a couple diff irons I still love the original Maxiglide over the rest so far.

I had the Chi put on my hair and it felt like it was ripping strands out. The Babyliss Pro is a good flat iron. I have tried the GHD and just didn't like it. I have tried the FHI G2 and the FHI runway and it seemed like they both worked the same..? I also tried the GVP (Sally's generic Chi) and it worked better than the Chi. My favorite is what I have now, the original Sedu. I have it 1.5 inches and it straightens my hair well as well as leaving great shine! I also have the Sedu Revolation, but I don't like that one because it doesn't heat up all the way. Even though the red light is blinking like it should be heated all the way, it isn't :/. It works GREAT on my wig hair though.

All in all, from what I have tried FHI and Sedu are the best. They worked the same for me as far as straightness of hair goes, but the Sedu gives me the extra shine that the FHI failed to do.

I am natural, 4A/B.

Yeah tried the jilbere nano silver, not so great results. :nono:

co-signing on the Chi iron. I had the Chi Turbo. It didn't do much for my hair at all. :nono: I gave it to my cousin and she had better results with it. I guess my hair type was too much for it.

I bought a Solia thereafter and my results were about the same as Chi. I returned that and got a Sedu. I prefer the Sedu out of all of them. :yep:
I recently purchased the FHI runway. I can't wait to use it, until then I love my baby Sedu.

My 4b hair likes the original GHD more than anything else...I have the FHI platform special edition from last year (for some reason ceramic/tourmaline irons HATE my hair and make it feel crunchy and fried) and the sedu from last fall (it just sits in my closet). GHD tops them both in my book. But no temperature control. It goes up to 370 internally.

Going back to the flat iron that works for me every time Maxiglide. I'm trying to look for that package deal the Maxiglide XP + Miniglide

I am natural. I do the BKT once a month. I have had the original in the past, but I have the newer version of Maxiglide. Its the 1''. I also have a miniglide brand new for sale, from when I got the set off HSN. I remember when you had the original on sale and I missed out on it. The new is good, but I liked the old one better. :yep:

there's a 2" maxiglide XP kitis sold out but the maxiglide MP 1" still on sale @ hsn.com, I actually think there's a website selling the original maxiglide kit. I like that they made a bigger water reservoir that was my only complaint with the original one.

Infrashine!

Oh I checked that out, my hair laughed at the jilbere nano silver flat iron, the one that's the cheaper version of the babyliss. and it's smaller than that so I don't think it will make a dent in my hair. going back to the tried and true huge maxiglide I love that it's one of the few irons that has steam.

5 seconds per roller for me for medium hold, MAX 10 seconds for good hold, always use end papers.

DON'T buy the gold'n'hot flat iron for $10!!! Oh God! That was back in 2005 right before this forum. It's 0% ceramic, snags with sharp edges and you can actually hear your hair snap as you use it.
