Her hair is nice (sans that little spot on the top of her head), keep up the good work ladies!! Kudos for Sherri just being bold with it too!! We need more African American woman going public showing their natural goods!! Whoo Hoo!!

If that date on the video is right, it looks like she did it before them. She had me a little nervous when she first took it off. That braid is clearly pulling out her hair in the front. But other than that it looks good to me. I'm glad to see these black women showing their real hair on television.

You're right!! I saw an April 2009 date for the video and a Jan. 2009. I guess I'm a bit late.:ohwell: But I've never seen it and when I searched it on here there were only 3 links and those were referring to weight lost. So I stand corrected and will need to change the order, first Sherri, then Oprah and now Tyra. :spinning:

I think she needs to stop using that comb in the front, because it's contributing to the thinning of her hair. I'm so proud of these women!!!

Her hair looks very fine and soft. She has a nice length too.
I think the comb is thinning her hair at the top.
I tried to wear a half wig for a week straight, of course taking it off as soon as I got home, but my head is still sore and tender at the top where the comb attachment sat.
I cut the comb out but at this point even bobby pins hurt.

First of all I absolutely love Sherri she's too cute and hilarious she keeps it so real. Her hair looks really good, it has achieved nice length but her crown:nono: she should try to switch up the kinds of wigs she wears and how they're attached....that crown awe man...not good.

But it was sooooo brave of her to do that on national television, just like Sherri to do somethin like that she's too cute I heart her.

wow she was brave and has great hair. i hope she trys lacefronts. maybe they will be kinder to her crown?

I liked the different techniques they showed, but I'd be as afraid to use that tape as glue, and those braids just looked too tight/painful. I'm wearing a half wig to work, and fortunately the comb doesn't bother me. I hope I reach armpit length fast so I won't resort to any more weave/wig experiments. I like the wig since I can still fully access my hair. I was missing it under my sew-ins. :-)

HER STYLIST SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO DIG OUT SHERRI'S HAIR IN THE FRONT. I KNOW FOLKS WERE PROBABLY THINKING: IF YOUR BALD IN THE FRONT, WHAT MAKES....okay my son turned my caps on....what makes you think i want to wear wigs. but i too agree, i love that hair of her's just not th\2wZ...ATTA...attack of my son.....the patches. sorry y'all!:spinning:

Sherri is too funny. The lady with her looked a lil surprised when she took the wig off. Whoever is her stylist needs to help her with a new style to save her crown.

i don't get people putting the comb into the braiid i feel my half wigs are secure without all that.

but kudos to you, sherri. she makes me laugh

I agree my wig has never slipped and i don't wear combs, i do wear bobby pins alot with them most times though.

She has beautiful hair. It got pretty awkward there for a moment though when she first took the wig off. Hopefully she will start to work on saving her crown.

i personally throw the braid in when i just get a relaxer so it has something to hold on to. i've tried wearing one with out a braid before and it just slips right off. i used to put a braid in the back too but i stopped.
Plus i dance so i want as much security as possible when whipping that hair around

Her real hair looks good, but yea, she needs to not use the comb at the top. Since the stylist is sewing it--why not just cut the comb out of it?

I'm glad these women are doing this. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Trying to maintain a *hush hush* about it is what makes it seem so taboo. And I like that they are showing that all women who wear wigs/weaves don't NEED to. I think that's one of the biggest misconceptions of fake hair.

I don't think that anything is wrong with the crown. I just thing that hair strand as fine and not very dense. In other words, she doesn't have much hair. I think that if the braid was out than it would be a different story. Her hair looks very healthy to me.

I have a friend who is a natural 3b with fine strands and not very dense hair and a lot of things make her look bald but her hair and scalp is healthy.

That looks like more damage than just a comb, but I don't wear wigs so IDK. I hope if it is the comb she starts to work on it. ETA: The rest of her hair looked nice tho.

LOL, another MTO lover!! That's where I first saw it last night and then I found it on youtube. I love that site.

Looking at it, I too think that it may be more than the comb since the comb goes across that area, and it just seems to be affecting that one spot. It looks like it could be spreading to the front of her hairline too. Maybe it's just a weak spot and that's why she's wearing wigs to nurse it back to health, but that comb isn't helping it any.

Could it be the beginning of alopecia?

Sherri only did it for that particular show. She said on the View yesterday that she prefers her long weaves.

Best,
Almond Eyes

Her hair is rather nice...

I hope that she isn't getting too much flak for that thin spot; sometimes it's just not your fault. Genetics, poor diet, stress and of course the possiblity of poor hair maintenance could be the culprit. (I personally have experienced some crown thinning and I try not to focus on it).

Sherri is being added to my prayers; I didn't realize the severity of her hair loss, and it is probably devastating for her whether she will admit it or not.

That braid was enviable though!
