Is it made to help detangle hair after it is some what dry and not fresh wash wet?

Mainly make the comb through easy?

I've used it on very wet hair and hair that was a litle damp, but, not dry. It helps detangle and also helps my hair hold onto moisture. I use 619 Extra Strength.

My hair felt softer and smoother. It still took a little work to get it detangled (i've got a lot of NG). So I'd say it helped, but it's not a detangler.

For me, it helps my leave-ins to soak in better and retain more moisture. So, I look at it as a kinda of binding agent for leave-ins and moisturizers. I apply it immediately after ringing out most of the water from my hair so that my hair isn't extremely wet and dripping all over the place. My hair is easier to detangle after using this, so it's definitely a keeper for me. I only use it once a week, even though I wash my hair 2x a week. They can get quite expensive. I don't know of any BSSs around here that sell boxes by the dozen, so I always end up buying the 3 - packs at Sallys. They run about $6.50 per pack.

thanks guys,
for some reason last night when my hair was wet (ie. spraying it with water since i can't detangle my hair unless it's soaking wet)it was tougher to detangle but when it was 80% dry the comb just breezed through and i lost far lesser hair compared to the sections i detangled really wet
go figure

I agree. I apply a creamy leave-in or moisturizer on my hair and the Fermodyl helps application of that so much better for me. I always used a little liquid leave-in for that reason, but the fermodyl has worked the best for me.

Honeydew ,
which leave in are you using ?
I used rusk smoother (I always use this one) and I tried giovanni direct leave in which did nothing on the section i had applied it on.

TIA

Well, I am kinda in between leave-ins right now. :look:

I used to use a little Qhemet's Sidr Tree Butter Balm, but it was recently discontinued.

I started using her Olive cream detangler and that has been wonderful. That one does not work well on my dry hair but it is great on my wet hair.

Sidr tree was discontinued *snap* that was another product on my wish list. I'll have to research the olive cream detangler . Thanks

...or it may have been that sometimes the leave-in needs a little time to work. I normally leave my liquid leave-ins for a couple of minutes before I start doing anything.
