Fall into FABULOUS!

Great!

So, any plans for this weekend?

Why yes - for the first time in almost a DECADE, I am going out for Halloween. I'm dressing up as a domestic diva (complete with a tiara and blinged-out apron and feather duster) . . . first going to see the MJ movie and then off to a costume party (for the single set :D)

I'm dressing up as a 60s flower child - parsley mini dress, white boots, flower garland and a poofy wig!

I also plan to carry a wicker basket full of candy, haloween tidbits and 35(dollar-store) flower stems that I plan to hand out to CUTE guys thru out the nite.

Have either of you attended Recess: Where adults come out and play which was featured in the Washington Post?

Never heard of it - any more info?

ETA - Here is some info http://www.washingtonpost.com/gog/profile/recess,1156406/critic-review.html#reviewNum1 Sounds fun! Maybe we should try to get a group to go :yep:

This is great! I am relocating from Atlanta to Charlotte soon and was worried about what my weekends would be like without my crew....I joined www.meetup.com and several of the groups that I am interested in and hope this will fill my weekends up! Have fun ladies!!! Lets get it!!

How was everyone's Halloween weekend? I am out in Sacramento for work and still CPA studying so I didn't do anything, but I want to live vicariously through others LOL

My Halloween was good! I went to da club (for the first time in YEARS) for a masquerade party . . . I realize now that I probably could've chosen a more seductive outfit - I was pretty much all covered up. But whatever. I danced with a few guys and pulled a number (although I don't intend to call). I swear though, I wish guys would at least *pretend* to dance before they start grinding on you.

I had so much FUN on Halloween!

I have two trips planned for November:
  • NYC for a weekend of shopping, sight seeing and a show at Madison Square Gardens.
  • Tampa for a LOA conference and visiting my best friend.
I also plan to up my fitness and healthy diet goals before the holiday season begins.

Glad to know you had fun! How did the handing out candy etc to cute guys go? Did it "open more doors" for you? ;-)

Curli,
Yeah, How did handing out candy to cute guys go? That's original.

This week -- Monday I went to a dinner meet-up,
Tomorrow, I'm going out to do Karaoke, which should be fun.
Saturday is the Atlanta LHCF Meet-up!!!!!!!!!!!

That will be about it for me.

It was FUN, guys are not used to getting flowers so all were flattered abd really good sports about it! :yep: I had some come up to me to ask for a FLOWER!

I was a 60's flower child/hippie - so I handled out single flower stem -just chopped up dollar-store brunches for about 30 stems.

I might have to wear this costume again next year....

I am going the art exhibit tomorrow night, movies (the Box) on Saturday and then a Brunch (with one of my meet-up group) on Sunday.

Ladies, any weekend plans?

This thread was soooo inspiring!!!

I just joined a bunch of meetup groups. I can't believe I forgot about that website! I joined a group back in 2003 and still get their emails. I see the emails but just ignore them!

Well I joined a women's social group in NYC, a couple running groups, and basketball. I also joined a couple groups I have little experience with but have been meaning to learn - like rock climbing and photography.

There are a couple events this weekend that I may attend!

Thank you so much to the OP!

Really really good and inspiring thread. I am married but I still would like to maintain my social life with MY friends. But I swear they have so many excuses and no one is spontaneous. We are off tomorrow for Veteran's Days and I am def going out tonight. The funny thing is I get all motivated in the morning then by the afternoon I think of a million reasons NOT to go. But tonight I am going to go home freshen up and come back out and play. I really do need to beef up my "going out" wardrobe. I think that would further motivate me to wanna hang. Nice clothes and a hair do always does the trick for me.

Can someone send me the "IT GIRL" thread pls?

That happens to me all the time -- happened on Halloween actually. I'm more likely to go out if I'm already out someplace else, even at work, and I can go straight there. Once I'm at home, I have a tendency to want to stay there and have to do a lot to motivate myself to go.

Regarding the friends not being spontaneous, I can relate, and going out by myself these past couple of months has really helped me to meet new people who enjoy going out. So, once you start, it will get easier.

The BOX was so bad, it was funny - literally people were laughing during the serious "dramatic" moments!:lachen::lachen::lachen:I don't even think Precious was playing at this theater.

Oh, I guess when we try to do things "out of the box" and try something different, we might get a dud every now and then. :lachen:

Ladies, I had less than a stellar time in NYC this weekend all because of the friend that I took along. This is the first (and last time) time we have travelled together and it was BAD!

The thing that gets me is that she invited herself along – (yes, I could have said no) I did not pressure her to go - YET she did not want to do anything once we got there.

I need to clam down before I even call her again :nono:

I had a GREAT time in Tampa! My 4 day trip turned into a 9-day - my friend convinced me to stay for Thanksgiving! It was so relaxing - no work, no laptop (although I did check LHCF on my phone), and great weather!

I have a busy social calendar (work networking events, xmas parties, etc.) until Dec 15th and then I'm just going to chill until the New Year! One of my personal goals for the New Year is to host get-togethers at my house! I love company, want to cook more and entertain, and this is much cheaper than going to restaurants all the time. :yep:

Great job Curli!

I'm about to start my tripple threat weekend, Turning 30 on December 3rd and partying for 3 nights in a row!! Tonight I'm doing dinner and live jazz, tomorrow, a club (haven't been to one in years!), and Saturday dinner and salsa dancing -- all with three different groups of people. Should be fun.

I think I'd like to be a part of this. This is a great idea! I am trying to learn to be more sociable...a work in progress. I'll check out some events. I don't do clubs and bars so I'm going to have to get creative.
