Im definately in starting tommorow:

Hair
-Wash once a week and deep condition once a week
-Apply MTG 3x a week
-moisturize hair daily
-apply a rinse every 6 weeks
-start taking a multivitamin and biotin

Skin
-Find a line of products that will even my skin tone
-Drink atleast 8 cups of water....eliminate soda all together
-Actually use my steam machine on my face once a week
-exfoliate once a week

Body
-cardio 45 minutes 3x a week
-Lose 30lbs by summer time

Daily washings, rollersets, NO MORE BRUSHING! OWW!

Skin: I am going to have to go back to my basics: Neutrogena and Dudu Osun. I would like to buy a water filter because the Arizona water is breaking me out :(

Body: This is where I really need help. Two years ago I was a skinny little 124 and now I'm 137. I want to get back into those size 2s.

- crown and glory (braids/weaves/twists for 6 weeks; give hair a week or two to breathe-get a retouch-wait another two weeks to put braids/weaves/twists back in)
-moisture
-retouches every 8-12 weeks

Body
-continue my 3x week weight training and 4-5x week cardio
-resume my food journal (hidden calories add up!!)
-goal to lose about 5-10 pounds by march

Skin
-Neutrogena Acne Face Wash (daily)
-St. Ives Apricot scrub (weekly)
-learn more about toners, facials etc to see what else can keep my skin clear
 
sweetcaramel checking in. how's it going ladies! billy blanks is kickin' my butt :lol: . i'm making old new again by listening to my mp3 while doing his tapes. it's not that bad, the first week was the worse. i can make it through the tape but i can't do all of the exercises correct or at their energy level.

i do feel my energy level spiking though!!! just have to get the menu together.

Hey everyone! I came in to give my update.

Hair...I braided my hair last w/e but by the time i got to the top section, I kinda "threw" the braids in. Needless to say, they looked jacked up after I washed. So...... I re-did the top section so it's fuller.. I'm pleased with the results! I also did my 6 and 4 year old daughter's hair. They have nice, full hair (a few inches past shoulder..natural of course) but there hair has been at the same length for some time now so I'm thinking of growing it out with braids. I also want to give them a blunt cut so after it gets to a certain length i'm gonna give them a good chop. I only put 2 rows of cornrows in so it looks like their hair. I'm going to use the crown and glory method for all of us!!

My workouts have been pretty consistent. My eating hasn't been so good but i'm working on it.

I'm contemplating not using my vitamins/supplements for a while bc something tells me they are the reason I can't lose this weight. I haven't experienced this before using all the pills (having a hard time losing weight). We'll see. I might be gaining muscle and losing fat bc i'm doing a lot of resistance workouts. I kinda don't want to sacrafice my hair for my body or visa-versa.

Anyways ladies, let's hear your updates!!!!:grin:

-condition wash every 2x/wk

-alternate weekly between protein treatment and moisturizing conditioner
-Apply minoval to scalp every other day
-vitamin supplements(GNC Hair/Skin/Nail Vit, MSM)
-moisturize hair daily w/s-curl no drip spray & applying Luqix at night
-tex-relax hair every 12 weeks.

Skin
-exfoliate 1x/week
-drink 8 glasses of water daily
-wash 2-3 weeks with plexion cleanser and apply ultravate cream
-apply moisturizer daily
-Get a facial quarterly (absolutely love them!)

Body
-Work out at gym 3x/wk(combination of kick-boxing, running, cardio-pump class)
-Lost 15 lbs on Weight Watchers and now I have three more weeks left to become a lifetime member.

Much better week for me!!!!! I bought cream of nature ultra moisturizing shampoo due to the raves here and I just felt like my hair was gobbling it up!! I also deep conditioned with cholesteral so my hair is good to go! My braids look kinda jacked up though but right now, I don't care.

I managed to lose 2lbs this week so i'm happy there.

I decided to start drinking carrot juice because i heard it does wonders for your skin much less your hair. I can testify that it gives you energy. I could hardly sit still at work yesterday! How is everyone else doing?

For me, I think the carrot juice is doing wonders for my overall health! I've been drinking a full glass everyday for over a week now! Hopefully, my hair and skin benefits from this but I think I need to give it a month! I've also managed to lose another pound this week! I'm on my way!

I need to take these braids out of my head. I feel so "tore up" and "uncute". I don't know, I need to find a style I can rock for a long time. I just want my hair to grow out some more so I can wear it out. It's at that awful in-between-stage and has no style. I was also gun ho on relaxing my hair once it got to a certain length but now i'm not so sure. It seems like everyone who is natural is in LOVE with their hair. I'm kinda starting to like mine too. 4a and all! I'm so confused!!!!!!!!
 
I have been meaning to get back to you all and tell you of my progress. I have already lost 5 pounds (regardless of what that stupid ticker is saying--I have been trying to adjust for the longest with no luck, a sista is in need of some help), which I very proud of....however, I have to not just drink more water I have to make it to the gym (I am trying to use my trip as a motiviator, but after a hard days work, I am too pooped). Ladies, I need a real boost rite about now!
 
Hey everyone! Even though most of you haven't posted I hope everyone is staying on track! I fell off for a bit but i'm trying to bounce back.

Hair- I made the mistake of getting my hair done with the braids that have a curl to it. I love how it looks but i'm so afraid of doing too much to it causing the braids to look trashy! My hair is growing though...slowly but surely. I stopped taking all vitamins! I kinda want to find out what works and what doesn't. I was taking soooooooo many vitamins a day that I started to worry. I want to try the ones that have "duel" benefits. ie. good for hair and body. I've also decided to relax my hair after I take these braids out. Being natural isn't my thing. I hate my hair texture. I don't want my hair bone straight so i'm thinking of ordering the phyto relaxer.
Body- talk about tough times. I am back to struggling with weight gain. My body seems to like this weight i'm at right now. I also quit smoking so i'm having a tougher time with eating. I've decided to up my workouts and eat better. I'm going to try the 80/20 rule of thumb for guidance.

Anyways, that's my update. Hopefully, the next time i update, i'll be singing the praises about my hair being relaxed "and loving it" and my weightloss.
 
Determine3 life just gets so busy for us, but I have been meaning to give an update....Well I've finally gotten my butt into the gym and I am being patient with the results...I just have to be consistent since work is busting my hump and this cold, cold weather just gnaws at me. But I will perservere.

My hair is coming along, but I have been negligent in some aspects...not taking my vitamins, not wrapping up...I am now back on track (and received such wonderful compliments on my 10 weeks post relaxed hair--I was told how fab it looks and no one could believe that my hair was strecthed to this point--flat irons are a miraculous tool!):lol:

daily co-wash,moisturizer,MTG
protective styles
shampoo & deep cond. 1xweek

Skin:
cleanse,tone,moisturize face daily
exfoiliate every two weeks
manicure & pedicure 1xmnth

BODY:
work out 5x week with treadmill(45-60
min. day),pilates,taebo
hair,skin,&nails vit.
96 oz. water daily
GOALS:
40 lbs. by june
shoulder length by june
lets keep each other uplifted!!:D
 
I am silently still on this challenge. Everything is going good so far.... scale is dropping, hair is growing and skin is clearing up. Better than that, I'm finally learning to love myself for who i am. I have recently kicked the "fake hur" to the curb after 10+ years and i'm enjoying my texturized afro. I cowash my hair every morning and my hair is loving it!!!

daily co-washes have helped me in the working out department so I don't have to worry about what to do with sweaty,mtg smelling hair!!:lol:

Please keep up the challenge it is a great thing,thanks for thinking of it!

Hey, I'm doing great with it! My hair is growing thanks to the MN concotion from Sade7. Today I did a light trim/dusting...i'm finally past shoulder in the kitchen i'm now waiting for the middle and top to catch up. They are growing though:D . My hair is longer than my avatar now..Yay. I've also starting reshaping my body thanks to Turbo Jam. DO NOT sleep on that one y'all! Everything's going good...i'm trying to get the skin up to par now.

How is everyone else doing?
 
my hair is great but my body needs to get in shape! i've been jogging a mile 3x a week. i need to vamp it up though. i'm getting a gym membership when finals are over :lol:
 
Update!!!

I have now come down 16 pounds and I am losing inches...I've lost 2 1/2 inches on my waist...I've lost 3 inches on my hips...I can't recall my biceps, calves and thighs...but the weight is slowly leaving...The only problem I am facing now is the effects of drinking diet drinks (especially diet soda...I am not a soda fan, but it has no sugar) with aspartame...it's affecting my face somewhat...Does anyone have any suggestions that could help???
 
I just saw this, ill be starting up next year after i have the baby in december. i cant wait.

I'm joining the challenge starting now. Here's my plan:

BODY/WEIGHT –Goal Body Weight: 125
Current Weight: 115

Gain 10 pounds
Tone abs, arms and legs

Plan:

Weight-training 2x per weeks
At-home sit-ups, push-ups and leg lifts 3x per week
Eat three full meals everyday; Add a peanut butter sandwich snack in addition to three meals per day; cook with olive oil

SKIN – Radiant and clear face and body
Drink 4 glasses of water per day.

Vitamin Supplements daily.
Wash and treat face two times per day.

SPF daily, face and body
Eyebrows professionally shaped once per month, or as needed
Simplified, light makeup to enhance my face

HAIR – Goal Length: Healthy Bra Strap
Other goals: Fill-in hair line and grow nape and other short spots.


Plan:
Protective styles (buns, octopus clips, updo, French braids, twist/braid outs)
Moisturize daily (Mizani on ends, WGO on scalp and hairline/nape)
Relax every 12 weeks or longer if possible
Wash & deep condition every 1-2 weeks. Follow hair regimen.

Heat once per week (roller set and flat-iron roots only)
Vitamin supplements daily
