I want you ladies to know that I have tried everything when it came to protein and I want you ladies to know that I mixed 1 egg, Mane and tale conditioner and EVOO and placed on my head with plastic cap and wore for 20 min. OBTW ofcourse I dc with my beloved alter ego and my hair has never been this strong and soft all at the same time. . . I washed again today and only dc and let me tell you my hair feels great and no breaks at all . I thank the Lord for Tracey on Kiss, eventhough I have used eggs b4 I have never added the conditioner and oils. thanks for reading

I love egg treatments. I mix two eggs with olive oil and amla oil. My hair is always so strong and soft! I've tried Joico and Aphogee, but they don't compare to eggs. I will never buy another commercial protein treatment!

I did an egg treatment last week. My hair felt hard at first but when it calms down its soft and strong. I'll be doing it every now and then as needed.

I was just thinking that I was going to buy the Aphogee products to give myself a good protein treatment this weekend. You really think that eggs work better? Hmmm...

I too just started doing this. It truly works wonders and fast too! I mean the breakage was immediately halted, I couldn't believe it.

I mix an egg with my conditioner and oils. I'm truly overwhelmed how something so simple is so effective!

I'm about to run out of my Aphogee 2 min...I may just slap some eggs and oil in my silicon mix and just DC with that.

I add egg powder to my homemade coconut milk and yogurt hair mask. I do it weekly and I agree soft, strong hair.

i keep saying i'm gonna try the egg but i haven't yet. i want an alternative to aphogee. that stuff stinks so bad that i avoid it like the plague even though i'm transitioning.

That is the only protein treatment that I do now. I have done yogurt - but - I don't like it as much as egg....one egg, Olive oil and condish.... Wonderful Results.

I think that this routine is especially effective for Relaxed ladies.

I'm so glad I read this - I was heading to Sally's today for some Aphogee 2 min. I'll just use eggs instead this weekend w/ condish and olive oil. Do you still DC with moisturizing conditioner afterwards like you would with any other protein treatment?

Yes.... Always.

Eggs are much cheaper than that other stuff... Although 'professionals' would tell you that eggs won't penetrate... Ha!

Whatever.

I normally DC after doing this treatment, but this weekend I'm going to add it to my DC to see if I get good results as well.

I have been pre-pooing with ORS Mayo because it has eggs in it mixed with oils, but now I'm gonna try it with egg only. One time I added egg to my d/c and sat under the dryer and it cooked :lachen:. Won't ever do that again!!

Thanks for sharing this info. I really need to try this. It seems like the longer my hair gets the faster it starts to break. I feel like I didn't come this far for nothing.

I am going to the grocery store to pick up my own carton of eggs. I already have the Mane N Tail.

Thanks a million.

I love using eggs for my hardcore protein treatments now...I honestly get better results with eggs than using emergencee or DRC and its so cheap!!!...I dont mix it with anything though; I just use eggs(about 3 or 4) Super strong hair... And of course I use a moisturizing DC afterwards

I do this also, mixing 2 eggs w/ a cheapie conditioner oils and honey and my hair always feels strong afterwards... I always dc w/ a moisturizing conditioner afterwards...

ya can someone describe how they are preparing these mixtures
do you mix the egg, beat it?
how do you put it in your hair?

I am glad that you reminded me of this I was thinking that I wanted to do some thing special for my hair and I think that I want to give this a try

OP, you are very pretty!

I dont know how well it penetrates my hair but I love the thickness I get when using an egg for my protein treatments and no other protein treatment gives me thickness like an egg no matter how often I use it

ok i did this earlier today and i liked how my hair felt. It just felt different stronger, it was shiny and my hair was a bit more defined. Also it was a easier to detangle and braid. My only issue was the egg whites they started to cook in my scalp a bit :ohwell:

it wasn't that BAD but now i know I'll just use two yolks and save the whites for a snack later :fridge:...thanks OP

I am definently going to try this tomorrow and will post my findings to this thread!! I want to compare the egg with my weeklt aphogee treatments.
