Eggs= STRONG hair

Its been about a year or two since I've done an egg treatment, but I used to do them often when I first started with a serious regimen. Thanks for the reminder. I used to do mine with ORS Hair Mayo. I would do it on dry hair. And then shampoo it out, and do moisture conditioning afterwards.

Did this today and I like!! My hair felt stronger, similar feeling to when I use cassia. I've used egg a long time ago and I don't remember it really work out for me. Today it worked really well. I didn't expect it to strengthen this much in one go. I mixed:

2 Whole eggs
EVOO

I used LTR afterwards to avoid dryness.

This is definately a keeper!

Wowsers!! I did this today. My hair felt BETTER than using the Aphogee 2 setp!!

My Egg recipe:
Silicon Mix
2 Egg yolks
Haitian Black Castor Oil
Oilve Oil
Aloe Vera Plant

I DC'd for an hour and my hair felt so strong and soft, I didn't even do a moisturizing DC afterwars either-- my hair didn't need it. I am thinking about using more natural products in my hair

Awesome....glad it worked for you so well! Thanks for sharing your recipe. Co-signing on using more natural products....my hair and I am are slowly becoming bff by doing this.

hello ladies just checking in on your posts. I am glad that you tried or revisisted eggs again. I will continue to use my lighter proteins that I spent all my money on until they are gone. but I will do an egg/cheap conditioner/EVOO mix every 4-6 weeks. here are my ingredients again.

1-2 eggs
mane and tale conditioner
evoo

mix them together and I put on my hair from root to tip with applicator brush then place plastic cap on for 20 min Without Heat. then I rinse very well and DC with a moisterizing conditioner such as alter ego garlic, or CON nourishing etc..

Lately, I've been using about 2 tablespoons of yogurt w/ one egg. I whip the ingredients up and pour the mix right on my head. After I let it sit for a little bit w/ a plastic bag then I wash and condition. My only issue is the constant “drippage” from the yogurt and egg concoction.

The mixture is thick when I mix it up, but maybe I need to add a cheap conditioner to the mix to decrease “drippage”?

I did an egg protein treatment last night and my hair loved it. I will keep this in my routine.

I tried this last night too. I used two eggs, cheapie conditioner, and olive oil. I left it on a bit longer than I meant to, around 30 minutes. I still experienced breakage, which might have been from the fact that I had a bantu knotout that I didn't detangle prior to applying the mixture, but I've also been battling breakage for a minute, which is why I started introducing protein to my regimen. Anyway, despite the breakage my hair still felt stronger and thicker overall, way better than it does with the Aphogee 2 min. I will be using this every 4 weeks, or as my hair feels that it needs the protein.

So I take it this has helped some to retain length and therefore achieve length and how much growth do you attribute to this method or treatment? thanks.

The coconut milk, full-fat yogurt, CocoReal cream of coconut, coconut or castor oil (I don't use too much oil for this mask as too much oil will make my hair stick together when rinsed out), molasses powder, egg powder, marshmallow root powder, honey and aloe vera gel. However, one does not need all of those ingredients for a nice mask, just coconut milk, yogurt, a bit of oil, egg powder, honey and a bit of MSM powder should do nicely. I usually keep forgetting to add the MSM. If the concoction is too thin, I add guar gum to thicken.

I've been thinking of using yoghurt and coconut milk, what goes into your mask?

So, is the egg treatment equivalent to a soft or hard protien treatment?

I'm going to say it's a medium treatment. On one hand, it does leave your hair a little hard (especially if you don't use a shower cap) but not anywhere near as hard as aphogee two step. On the other hand, the results are immediate, and it leaves your hair very strong, noticeably strong. And IMO, you don't have to do a crazy dc afterwards like the aphogee two step.

I'm gonna try this tonight. I've been having a little breakage that I want to nip in the bud.

I like to use eggs too. Theye work better that any other protein treatment, and I have tried quite a few: Aphogee hardcore and 2 min reconstructor, Nexxus emergencee, redkne cat, .... I sometimes mix egg york and mayonaise for a prepoo, and it works great.

how often do you do the egg treatment? can i prepoo with egg yolk, evoo, and cond every time i wash?? or would that be tooo much??

Some people can handle that regular protein, if followed by a moisture treatment. I recommend you do it as needed, to prevent overload.

I only do it once or twice a month, and only when my hair is feeling mushy. I listen to my hair before I use protein because the moisture/protein balance is very easy to disturb.

The funny thing is i did my first egg treatment today and i made a mess! lol...i used two eggs, moisture milks, and evoo...it was kinda runny...i airdried under a half wig so i dont know how my hair feels yet...i will try it again though...
