Does there come a point where your hair just stops growing?

Hi everyone!

I am new here but I LOVE this site. I am happy to see many of the things I have been doing for years are good hair care techniques.

So now I pose a question. . .

Does there come a point where you reach your hair's maximum length or is that just a false rumor?

I have long hair its just past my waist. I do know it has been a little longer then this but not much more. I want it longer like Sydney Poitier in that silly horror movie from Grindhouse called "Death Proof."

I don't know what my texture is, its somewhere in the 3's depending on the humidity. LOL

Welcome!

Hair always grows, until you die. But the growth cycle ranges from 2-6 years from what I've read. So, depending on the length of your growth cycle your terminal length (how long your hair can get before it sheds) could be where you are now.

The only way to know for sure is to make sure you are doing all you can to retain your hair. If your haircare practices are already on point and you don't feel like there's anything hindering your retention, then it's possible you've hit your terminal length.

Do you think vitamins could help to get past that mark?

I think my problem is just when I am about to get to the tailbone length something inside me snaps and I get a few inches taken off instead of waiting for everything to catch up. This last time I thought who cares I'm just gonna get some taken off and have some layers added. Some I had it cut a little more than normal.

BUT then I saw that horrible movie and I was like WOW! What was I thinking? The best part is when Sydney swings her long curly hair everywhere to a rock song. I even recorded that tiny segment. LOL
