My hair does not act right when I try to wear it curly
I can never ever brush it
I don't have a lot of variations when it comes to styling options
My hair is fine, and must be treated gently
My hair seems to to better when I leave it alone
/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have come to grips w/ the fact that:
-my hair doesn't like heat or relaxers.
-my hair texture is fine and it tangles and knots VERY easily.
-the hair in the back and the temple area is the most fragile.
-my hair retains more length when left alone.
-my hair doesn't like daily co washes.
-Pantene Hydrating Curls is my friend.
-nobody knows my hair like I do.

*I've come to terms that i do indeed have hand in hair disease.

*That my hair is UBER-picky and hates all shampoo EXCEPT the Aubrey Organics Island Butter that i'm currently using.

*CON washing is to my hair like the sexy lover you've lost touch with and finally bump into again /images/graemlins/love.gif.

I have come to grips with the fact that my hair"
-will grow in this v-shape no matter what and theres nothing I can do about it /images/graemlins/wallbash.gif
-hates dominican conditioners
-loves and NEEDS protein treatments /images/graemlins/fat.gif
-needs extreme moisiture when air-drying /images/graemlins/confused.gif

My hair:

+ naturally grows in layers
+ can take H-U-G-E amounts of protein with no problem
+ can take a fair amount of heat
+ doesn't need to be trimmed often
+ likes frequent deep conditionings and oil treatments
+ flourishes when I leave it alone

- MUST use a leave-in
- Must detangled in a certain way
- growth doesn't change much with vitamins
- hates creme moisturizers ('cept CCFE)
- cannot be air-dried loose and be expected to look good

Most of my friends and family don’t like the way my natural hair looks. Too bad for them. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
I have a slow growth rate. It will take me forrrrrrreverrrrrr to reach my goal, but it will happen. /images/graemlins/up.gif
My hair doesn’t thrive when chemically altered.
My natural hair will never shine like my relaxed hair did.
I may have to come to grips with the fact that I’ll never have “touchable” hair. /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif
My hair looooooooooves water! /images/graemlins/fat.gif

* rollersets and blowouts are best left to professionals
* the right side of my hair will always be curlier/wavier than the left-STOP FIGHTING IT /images/graemlins/mad.gif
* semi-permanent colors do not work-STOP BUYING THEM /images/graemlins/mad.gif
* i am causing my hair to break by being to rough
* washing my hair in the sink is no longer an option
* having long hair means nothing if you don't style it

I have come to grips that my hair does not like air drying completely without a little blowdrying. My hair loves grease! I have to use a creamy moisturizer daily! My hair hates CO washes!
I can only stretch my relaxers to 7-8 weeks max!

I have come to grips with:

-It will always take me at LEAST an hour and a half to press my hair and since I'm too cheap to go to the salon, I will just have to deal with it /images/graemlins/cry3.gif

-My hair is not thick. It's just not. I'm pretty lucky if I can get by without see-thru ends, nevermind the super thickness I've seen others sport.

-I am too lazy to do my hair. Wigs are just easier. So until my hair reaches my waist and I can wear one long braid, I need to keep buying wigs in order to not get frustrated /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif

-My hair will never be even textured. The majority of my hair is 3b/c but I have an approx. 2 inch tuft of 4a-ish hair in the front of my head that sticks straight up and reverts like nobodies business.

-I CANNOT dye my hair 3 times in one week and expect to get off scotch free with no damage, no extra dryness, etc. I should be happy I still have any hair at all.

I have come to grips with the fact that......

My hair loves to be braided. I has rewarded me with growth if I do this.

Vitamins and surge works for me, but I must be consistent.

My hair loves creamy conditioners and rollersets.

My hair in the front grows slower than the back.....much slower.

My hair is about 3/4" away from my bra-strap. I need a trim soon but I'm afraid to get one.

I can achieve the goal of "waist-length" if I'm consistent.

taking large dosages of vitamins isnt necessary for growth or retention.

less is more. all that pre treatment and excessive manipulation is ridiculously excessive
cheap products are as good, if not better, than expensive products

[/ QUOTE ]

-Yup... I am realizing that my hair does fine with drug store products /images/graemlins/smile.gif The only thing I will spend money on is expensive protein treatments, but not on poo's and moisturizing conditioners.
-I must come to grips with the fact that my hair will never, ever, ever, ever be as thick as it use to be in spite of how many times I cut it /images/graemlins/cry3.gif /images/graemlins/cry3.gif /images/graemlins/cry3.gif
-I also do not have wash and go hair. It needs to be pulled back to look like something.
-My hair hates lye relaxers. They do nothing but burn me and leave me extremely underprocessed. I will only use them to touch up my sides once in a while.
-My hair doesn't like a lot of conditioners raved about like:
Kenra, Deep Brilliance, Elucence, Humectress, and a list of others I can't think of.
-MSM and my hair texture are not friends /images/graemlins/nono.gif

-salerm 21 is the only product that will ease wet combong when doing my rollersets

-humidity frizzes my hair terribly

My hair will never be as thick as I wish it could be

My hair will never be free of split ends...atleast completely

I have come to grips with:

- my hair and scalp does not like Lye Relaxers( my hair was doing just fine and growing likes weeds when I was using Carolyn Grays method and using a no-lye relxer for sensitive scalp)

[*] My left side grows slower than my right
[*] The top of my hair is looser and I wish I could wait 12-16 weeks to relax it and 8 wks for the rest /images/graemlins/wallbash.gif
[*] If I color I cannot use direct heat; so I have to pick one *I can't wait to get rid of the color*
[*] If I don't have color in my hair, I can still use heat once a week and not wreck my hair /images/graemlins/clap.gif
[*] My hair hates a lot of protein, so I need to stop trying to do them every week just cause I'm relaxed now.

I'm soooo trying to find out what the deal with this is - considering that is the side I sleep on if I don't wind up on my back. I have to really look out for the left side so it can keep up with the weed growing right side.

I have accepted that my hair CANNOT be long and completely blunt cut at the same time. It can be shorter and blunt, but once it grows out, it insists on being "U" shaped.

I usually have "U" shaped hair, but after seeing so many pics of ladies with long, blunt hair here at LHCF, I decided I wanted long, blunt hair, too. So I cut off four inches in June, then another inch the following month. I planned to keep it blunt as it grew back, but here I am with my hair back at the length it was in June in a "U" shape AGAIN, as always.

I don't know what the problem is -- maybe it's because I trim/dust my own hair, but I refuse to trust a potentially scissor-happy stylist again. So, I just have to accept that I have U-shaped hair. So be it.

I have come to grips with the fact that my hair does not respond to pretty much ANY of the products that others rave about. Having learned this, I just keep my money in my purse. I don't care if 99.9% of the people LOVE something, I ain't buying it /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Now, if someone is offering free samples, I might try something new. Otherwise, forget it!

I know mine is because of the texture difference, my left side is tighter than my right, so if I do the same thing to both sides they'll always be like that. Unfortunately I cannot completely baby one side of my hair!

I HEAR THAT! /images/graemlins/cool.gif /images/graemlins/smile.gif

-- My hair can tolerate heat, but the less, the better
-- My hair needs to be trimmed /images/graemlins/look.gif
-- My hair likes to be worn down, it gives me headaches on cue after ~9 hours (some days it's more like 4)
-- My hair is unique, beautiful and ENOUGH just as it is TODAY /images/graemlins/kiss.gif
-- I just started this journey yesterday, so don't expect hair to your waist today!!! /images/graemlins/nuts.gif /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

*My hair is so thick but I gotta love the thickness
*My hair loves conditioner washes....and is not a shampoo fan. (since co-washing detangling is so much easier)...and no hard, ridiculously dry, sqeaky clean hair
*Loves to be rinsed daily if not co-washed.
*No chemicals...no not even color...gotta weave it up for color...
*Grows well w/ a press and wrapping nightly.
*Will always take long to braid due to the thickness.
*Grows well w/ braids...I just have to moisturize
*Likes creamy leave-in conditioners/moisturizers
*Will not lay down wet no matter how much stuff I put in it

I have come to grips with the fact that:

- My hair grows slowly - 1/4 to 1/2 inch per month, even if I take a boat load of vitamins.
- My hair hates a lot of protein.
- My hair is very soft and fine and gets weighed down easily.
- /images/graemlins/crazy.gif My hair is thin, but healthy.
- My hair loves conditioner washes.

I have come to grips with the fact that:

-My hair can't handle being color treated
-My hair grows sloooooowww (about 1/4 in per month)... so stop fighting it /images/graemlins/nono.gif
-My hair just isn't long enough to make a bun the way I want to.
-I'm bad at trimming my own hair
-Some things are just better left to the professionals
-I need to get rid of these no-lye ends
AND FINALLY (I'm still in denial about this one):
-My vanity is going to be the death of my hair goals /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif ... I love to wear my hair out and straight and I hate to sacrifice style in the name of that dreaded bun, but I know that they are the quickest way and heat is the enemy.

-my hair does not grow evenly, despite any number of trims
-when i wash my hair and put it in a bun, it will take over 24 hours to dry completely
-it's better to stick with what works for me, instead of wasting money on what works for other people (product wise)

I have come to grips with the fact that my hair:

-- is THIN
-- is FINE
-- loves a rollerset
-- is slowing retaining length
-- grows faster on the left side
-- will only grow as fast as it wants no matter what I do to it
