I have come to grips with the fact that my hair and heat DO NOT mix. /images/graemlins/naughty.gif
If I want long hair, its all about air drying and proper moisterizing. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I also do not have wash and go hair.
I mean I could but I'd end up looking a mess. /images/graemlins/spinning.gif

I am grasping being patient while your hair grows.
I will be very happy with 1/2 inch a month. That will mean it is not breaking off as fast or faster than it grows! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

**my hair is supa thick
**will grow 3/4 of an inch a month if i would just leave it alone.
**i dont feel like waiting to see my loose natural hair reach 6 inches or longer because of the maintainence...
**my hair loves to LOVE each other..(constant dancing/twisting itself around another strand)
**decided to go ahead and loc since my hair

Congrats on deciding to loc!! /images/graemlins/clap.gif

i have come to grips with the fact that:

My hair will never airdry straight.
I can never go more than 2 weeks without washing my hair unless i want major flakes, oil, and itchiness.
My hair will never grow more than one inch in a month.
I have to moisturize my hair constantly.
I will reach my goal if and only if I continue with a stable regimen.
Most cheap-o products do not work for me.

I now accedpt:
that I don't have wash and wear hair.
my hair will never get "silky" straight with relaxers or heat.
my hair will never airdry straight
as my hair gets longer, it will take over 3 hours for my hair to dry if I want to do a rollerset

I've come to realize that:

My hair just grows better in braids. /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif

I will probably never regrow the hair at my temples. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I cannot clarify one second before my hair is ready or I will suffer.
Laying on cotton at night will tear my hair to shreds even if it was perfectly fine the day before.
It does not like to have its' relaxers stretched beyond 3 months /images/graemlins/nono.gif.

In sum, if I am good to my hair, it will be good to me.

I have come to grips that:
My hair loves a combination of oil and water for moisture.
My hair can only tolerate heat for so long.
My hair doesn't need so many hair products.

<ul type="square">What I have came to GRIPS about: [*]My hair should not be wash very often [*]Too many products + My hair = Messy disaster [*]Too much heat on my hair leads to thinner hair and see-through ends [*]Having a lot of new growth or what others call "nappy" hair isn't bad [*]Less manipulation and moisturizing my hair are keys to less breakage [/list]

-There's no magic product that'll allow me to comb my hair in the shower, especially the new growth.
-I can rollerset my own hair even close to touchup time. I have no excuse to pay $30-$40 at the salon when I can get it done in less time.
-Braidouts look good on me even with a lot of new growth.
-I've got to start relaxing my own hair. My stylist rips through it too roughly. I need to bite the bullet and just do it myself.

That you dont need to have straight hair in order to look manicured or professional
The longer my hair gets, the more moisture it needs
Having short hair is not the end of the world...it will grow back in due time /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I mentioned that I don't have wash-n-go hair, but I already knew that /images/graemlins/frown.gif

My main reality check is that washing and styling my hair takes a long time and short-cuts don't work. If I'm going to wash my hair, I need to prepare to put about 30-40 rollers in my head for a decent curly style that I know will be cute once it's dried.

I won't have wash-n-go hair or at least wash-n-style quickly hair until I have hair long enough for a bun. I love the texture of my wet hair and it's going to be wonderful when I can wash, condition, apply leave-ins and just put my hair in a bun to air-dry. That won't be until next year and I know it! /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif So, until then...my hair just takes forever to do. damn. /images/graemlins/nono.gif

I have found that I
1. cannot conditioner wash daily or my hair will be wet 24/7 because it takes forever to dry and I don't want to wear it down all day long to wait for it to dry.
2. I cannot wear my hair out and curly every day because it's too much work
3. I cannot use commercial hair colors on my hair or it will break
4. I will always have small short hairs in the front no matter what, they will grow out from time to time but then they break again
5. I have very easy to care for and versatile hair compared to most people! (As long as I treat it like it wants to be treated.)
6. I love my hair!!

my hair hates heat

my hair cannot take protein

I cannot comb my hair when dry

my hair can take up to 24 hrs to completely air dry

the crown and front of my hair grow in looser no matter how much i cut them. so wash and go for me is always a wash and oh no...

hair does not like water based hair lotions/oil moisturizers

my hair will shrink to my shoulders no matter how long it gets

I cannot extend my relaxer/texturiser beyond 3 months without major damage.
I have to wash my hair in sections now or it would be a hot mess (knots and tangles).
My hair thrives well with less maipulation.

1.) I cannot comb my hair dry no matter what.
2.) My hair will shrink to 2.5 inches no matter how long it gets.
3.) My hair does not like relaxers/texturizers. It took me 20 years to figure this out.
4.) My hair will never be anything more than type 4b.
5.) Knots and tangles have become a way of life for me. I just have to learn how to control them.
6.) My hair hates protein.
7.) I will never get more that 1/2 inch of new hair a month so I will have to wait.
8.) I cannot press my hair straight more than every 5 months or else I will start to lose hair.

-vitamins do not work for my hair, although my eyelashes did grow
-my hair cannot handle twist/braidouts; too much breakage
-only a little heat will do

i can only comb my hair when it's wet
you can never entirely get rid of split ends, they happen
my hair likes to be left alone (braids or weaves)
my hair sheds daily, get over it

1. My hair does not like water-based moisturizers so I won't waste money trying any other ones.
2. My hair is too short for a decent bun and I don't like how my curly hair looks in a bun donut.
3. My hair does not like heavy proteins.
4. My hair looks best when it's co washed daily.

1. my hair loves to be left alone period! this means braids.
2. my hair loves alot of moisture.
3. my hair grows about 3/4-1 inch a month.
4. patience is not one of my best traits w/ my hair.
5. my hair loves hot oil &amp; deep conditioning trmt w/ each wash.
MOST OF ALL IT WILL BE LONG ONE DAY /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/smile.gif

1. I also do not have wash and go hair. If i wet it, i must rollerset it afterwards
2. I have to sleep with a satin scarf or my hair will dry out.

1. The knots at the ends of some of my hair strands aren't going anywhere. Gotta get over it. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif
2. There actually are somethings I need a professional stylist for i.e. a GOOD trim. Been doing it myself, and my hair may be starting to suffer because of it.
3. No matter what, the right of my head will always grow faster and the left side of my hair will always break faster.

that my hair will never grow even.... /images/graemlins/laugh.gif /images/graemlins/laugh.gif /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

taking large dosages of vitamins isnt necessary for growth or retention.

less is more. all that pre treatment and excessive manipulation is ridiculously excessive

my hair does not like to be straight

my hair does not like stylist

my hair does not like buns

my hair thinks salerm 21 is a bottle of crap

cheap products are as good, if not better, than expensive products

It's going to take a LONG time for me to get the head of natural hair that I want.

I MUST wash my hair in sections if I want to keep my sanity when I attempt to style it afterwards.

There is no miracle product.
