I thought it would be fun to start a thread on those products we hear so much about and tell whether or not their claim is fact or fiction. PJs beware, this thread could get tempting.

Here are mine:

* Alter Ego revitilizing lotion: It's claim is to strengthen the bulbs of your hair. After three months I don't think this really did anything for me.

* Surge Plus 14: it's claim is to promote growth. This continues to be my go-to item for my thin hair. I love it.

feria deep conditioner for colored hair: it claims to make your hair smooth and silky. it's a true winner. it went on smooth and left my strands smooth and silky. i can't stop touching my hair (or looking at it) i love it!

silk elements luxury conditioner: i forgot what the stupid thing claimed that it did! all i know is it feels like you conditioned w/a flour paste mix
laugh.gif
i hate it. luxury my behind!

I had problems with the DOve Shampoo and Conditioner. It said it would be moisturizing and since the soap is very nice i figured the shampoo and conditioner would be too...boy was i wrong i dunno what it moisturized but it wasnt my hair

Oh I forgot to add...

Salerm Hair Mask: One word: awesome! Hair is far more manageable and ends feel and look so much better.

Pro line's Coconut oil: This was the best $3 investment I ever made. Talk ahout non-greasy yet soft hair. I use this on my hair wet and dry.

This isn't a hair product but the Instant Weave. It was no good. It itched, it didn't look nor feel real (I bought the synthetic hair one) and I looked like Elvira (too dark). I threw it away after one use.

- I agree, LorraineG. It stays true to its claims.

Paul Mitchell Sinny Line
up.gif
- It promises to cut down drying time and leave your hair smooth. Well, for me it def does this. My hair is consistently salon perfect when I use this.

Tigi Chocolate Head:says it powerfully restores and deeply conditions chemically treated hair.........NO IT DOESN'T...at least not for me.

And yes I've used it every possible way I could think of...it's just useless for me.....

I'm writing that one down. I've never heard of it and I am desperately seeking something to keep me from under the hood dryer all night. Thanks!

Lust - is supposed to make your hair feel so ooooh and ahhhhh and oooooh....no it didn't do that for me ! 4a/4b

Biosilk silk therapy- is supposed to do the same as Lust -

and it did. It made me and my sister's hair feel great.

I second that. Feria's deep moisturizing conditioner is off the hook.

I'm glad to hear that about Biosilk. I plan on buying the generic from Sally's this week.

I LOVE Biosilk Therapy. I don;t think I am using it correctly. After i do a roller set or braid out I rub it thru my hair...is this correct?

What exactly is the Paul Mitchell Sinny Line?

hairlove, I can't guarantee that the generic will be as good. Do they offer samples?

Tonya, I apply it ur way and I also apply it to my wet hair while I'm rollersetting. Usually I mix it with a little olive oil and then set. The results are always great.

No, but it's Sally's so I can always return it if I don't like it.

Oh goodness, GENERIC makes a knock off? Oh great! Now I have to stop by Sally's on the way home.

Anyone have any reviews on Elasta QP Mango Butter and is it true Sally's sells this, too?

Thanks!

Cool. Please give a report after you use it. Biosilk goes for $13 - $16 per bottle! eeks.

btw: I'm not sure if you live next an ExpectFoods but I've seen Biosilk therapy in there.

LorraineG, if u have a walmart salon near you, I bought the sample pack of paul mitchell skinny-it had a small bottle of the shampoo, conditioner, and serum for $10. I thought this was a good way to try it before spending a lot of money on it and not liking it...you could get several uses out of it too.

Tonya- Paul Mitchell has a new line out called Skinny. It's supposed to cut down on your drying time, leave your hair smooth and soft and it smells like Apple Jolly ranchers!
smile.gif

Like I told CaramelHonee, I have officially given up on trying any new products b/c I am totally sated w/my KeraCare and my beloved PM Skinny Line.

And yes, I have the entire line (poo, con, serum).
wink.gif

Dolce, the PM Skinny line sounds interesting -- I've been searching online to take a look at the ingredients but haven't found it. Do you know of a site that lists the skinny products and ingredients? Otherwise, I may have to pysically enter an Ulta store and that's just foolish if I'm trying to control the PJ within -- walking into an Ulta is like the ultimate temptation and the PJ monster becomes literally uncontrollable . . .

Can someone help a sistah out?

oops i must have made a mistake posting this but i wanted to say i tried the genric biosilk therapy from sallys and i didnt like it as much as the original. The generic brand is gooey and the shine did not last as long as the original SIlk therapy. The original biosilk is not gooey and sticky and the shine last way longer in my experience.
