Does co-washing get your hair clean?

It gets my hair clean enough for wash and go styles in between shampoos, but not clean enough for any type of heat styling.

I wanted to know this too because I'd like to cowash but I always end up using shampoo anyway because I use thick oils like castor oil and I'd feel like I wasnt doing anything to my hair but putting conditioner on top of oils. I know pretty much everyone uses oils so how does that work in conjunction with co-washing?

I am pretty sure that oils (especially Castor Oil) can be washed off with coditioner only. Most of the oils we used are highly absobably by our hair compared with grease and other junk used by many of us in the past which just coated the hair. There is no need to shampoo if you are not using -cones (cones can only be removed with shampoo since they coat the hair) and if you are washing often (1-2x/week).
