Does anyone do their braidouts on dry hair?

I usually spray my hair with water & setting lotion then braid and dry. However today I braided my hair while it was dry, after I moisturized of course. So I'm wondering if it will still have a curly or wavy pattern if I don't add any water & setting lotion to it??? So do any of you do braidouts or twistouts on dry hair and if so what are the results?

Thanks

Yes, I do this all the time.
Often I put my hair in a single ponytail. I'll begin with dry MOISTURIZED hair, straight from being wrapped up at night. I'll run my hands under the faucet and then through my hair to give the waves "something to hold onto". I'll also moistuize again - usually w/ a dollop of Humectress and sealed with an oil. In the braid it goes.

About halfway through the day I take it down and finger comb out the waves. I've done this with more braids, too. It is the fastest down style I can manage...like for a last minute date. It's great because your hair is already dry, yes you are re-moistening it but that water drys much faster.

The downside: these waves are not a stong. They tend to poof up for me, because they weren't truly set in (sopping wet hair and dryer). I think you should play with the amount of product and moistness of your hair, plus with a dryer to see what you get. hth
