Yeah, I was looking at your siggy earlier. That's really cute.Mook's hair said:My sig is the result of a twistout. I might also have a few in fotki.
That came out pretty. So you do the twists going back like cornrows vs. the individual loose ones? I didn't think of doing it like that......hmmm.candiel said:I don't have pics of the twists but I have some of the end result. The pics were taken when my hair was a little shorter than it is now and my twistout was a few days old. (Hence, the crazy looking endserplexed)
I make sure I use some Elucence MB as my leave-in then, I comb my hair. Next, I use some Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion on each section before I twist it going back. I find that this helps my twist out last longer. I always do 6 twists going back. On the end of each twist, I put a flexi rod and then sit under the dryer for about an hour. If I do my twists at night, I dry for about 45 min. under the hooded dryer and then leave them in overnight. When I unravel the twists, I usually apply some coconut oil to add some shine.
After a few days, if my hair is starting to look frizzy I use some Garnier Fructis curling mousse. Hope this helps!
I think I got the right pic.....is it in your protective styles album? Thanks for your tips. I was wondering what to do with it at night. I guess I'll have to experiment a bit.RabiaElaine said:Check my fotki. I belive I have some pics in there of a twist out. My hair was much shorter then than it is now, but you'll get the idea of what a twist out looks like. They are beautiful! You may just have to retwist them at night to keep the waves/curls fresh.
I can't remember what I used in those pics but in general I straighten my hair first in a rollerset, then I twist it w/ some moisturizer and a little light gel like SHINE. I usually do about 8 or so twist cornrows with curler on the ends. I let the hair dry (from the gel/moisturizer) overnight. Then in the morning when I untwist them I put some oil or serum on my fingers before untwisting the twists. This helps to reduce/eliminate the frizz as the twists come down.
