Do you retain 5 or 6 inches per year?

Too early for me to tell - haven't made a full year yet. But so far it looks like I have been able to retain about 3-4 inches I will know better middle of next year.

I think I will come close this year. This was my hair in February of this year

This weekend after a wash and 6 weeks post

I think my reggie is pretty simple. I wash and dc one time per week. I then either pony rollerset and flat iron or wear an airdried bun or wet pony depending on how far into a stretch I am. I moisturize as needed because my hair is very protein dependent. I do an aphogee (the sticky smelly one) every 8-10 weeks as needed. I am texlaxed and give myself a touch up every 3-5 months depending on how much of a g I'm feeling like.

Bte sorry for the bad pics. I've never been any good at selfies.

Regi......

Wash with conditioning cleanser 1-2x a month
Condition with a slippy rinse out
Deep condition with a moisturizing deep conditioner for 5-30 minutes with heat
Protective style with twists braids or buns
Primarily finger detangle
Use butter and oils to seal moisture in on a regular basis

Texture.....

4b

Medium-Coarse Strands

Vitamins.....

One a day multivitamins

Growth aid(s)......

I love using castor oil to seal and when I deep condition I apply it to my scalp

I also use Qhemet regularly and the owner incorporates msm in her products

and

Advice

1. Have patience
2. Scissors like all necessary evils should be used as a last resort. First you need to know why you are experiencing breakage in order to successfully stop furthering possible damage.
3. Gentle care is very underrated but was instrumental in helping me to retain length.

ETA: Still working on number one!

I don't think I retain that much in a year. I can stretch part of the front to under the armpit but it is not near armpit in the back. The crown grows faster than the rest. I sm glad it is growing but the back needs some babying. Now I:
oil and dc prepoo!!
cowash twice weekly and deep condition
coffee under the dc
acv
tea rinse to finish
vitamins
b complex,msm,biotin,hairfinity
jojoba eo spritz for scalp
water spritz with evoo and eo
castor oil to alopecia area in front

I do. I had 5 inches a month before my hairversary, and it grew more after that. I haven't measured recently, so I don't know my exact length currently; but I'll probably measure when I take out my flat twists this weekend.

Regi......Once a week, I deep condition overnight, shampoo, condition/detangle, apply leave-in, and seal. During the week, I keep my hair flat twisted under a wig. On the weekend, I play with it to learn new styles. I moisturize and seal 1-2 times per day.

Texture.....3c/4a/4b. I have marker-sized coils on top, frizz on the edges in the front to around my ears, and most of my hair is pen-sized coils.

Vitamins..... I try to remember to take a multivitamin and 2000 iu of Vitamin D daily. Many days, I forget.

Growth aid(s)......No

Advice..... Make sure to keep your hair moisturized. When I feel like I need a serious moisture boost, I baggy. Don't comb or over-manipulate bone dry hair. When I don't dry my hair in a stretched style, the coils tangle like crazy. If I try to play with it, breaks. I either have to leave it alone or re-wet it.

Yes, I definitely do especially when I leave bleach alone. I am keeping my hair dark now and it's super strong naturally so I retain all of my growth.

I get about 6" per year - my hair was 3C but is now 3B from the henna.
I am the queen of simplicity.
I am natural.
I don't take any vitamins.
I henna about once a month, use grapeseed or rice bran oil on my ends, co wash every other day.
No heat on my hair and I sleep on a satin pillowcase.

My hair is BSL unstretched and WL stretched; I chopped it back to shoulder length for a change last year and it has already grown all the way back.

Pix? We would LOVE to drooll over your hair! :-)
