. . . looking at another woman's hair and thinking "She needs a deep conditioner!" or something similar? That happened to me yesterday. I was sitting on the metro behind this woman (who was actually white) and even though her hair had a pretty style, her ends were SO very dry. I could practically see them screaming for moisture. I dunno. It struck me as kind of funny that I was sitting there analyzing her hair and got me wondering if folks were looking at my hair too . . . .

I do it all of the time. The most recent was when my cousin was visiting from out of town and was using oil to "moisturize" her hair. Even though she had just gotten a major cut, her ends were screaming for moisture.

Random people I do it to as well, or find myself wanting to ask them how they achieved a certain style. It's even worse when I'm at a hair salon and see the damage that many of the stylists do to hair. :wallbash:

I go through this with my co worker thinkin she needs help with her hair but looking my little rat's nest I cant talk now

I do all the time. Some teenagers at church ask me questions and I tell them to try certain things. It has become a trend now! Ask Ms. Ken, she will set you straight. lol!

There is this girl in one of my classes that I attend and she has color in her hair. U can tell that she really likes her length because she is always playing in her hair. I want to tell her to stop coloring her hair because it is so dry and thin. Beautiful color, bad hair! Her length his hanging on by one split end!! I just sit and watch her play in her hair screaming to myself - GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD, PLEASE!!

Girl, all the time! Recently, I noticed that my co-workers hair have remained the same length for over a year now. The ones with "long" hair are constantly wearing their hair down so no wonder it hasn't reached APL yet. I just want to hand out regimens at work:lol:

ALL THE TIME - EVERYWHERE I GO.

I've always been facsinated by and about hair and now that I've learned a little bit about proper hair care, whoa . . . .

I'm silently analyzing everybodies.

 Oh my goodness.....Your comparison pics in your siggy! Great Progress!

Glib Gurl, so do I. LOL!

Just yesterday, I noticed a woman who not only needed a "super-size me" industrial strength moisture treatment, but she also needed a protein treament, and a good trim. She had this straggly mass of longer hair hanging under a layer of shorter hair. She was most likely growing out a layered cut. As a hairstylist once told me, hanging onto length for length's sake is never a good idea. Sometimes one has to cut it, and begin anew.

Of course, my own hair has a distance to run, but, if mine looked like the aforementioned, or even came close, my mother would have said something to me. She's commented on much milder hair conditions of mine by comparison. In a loving way.:)

I think i have become obsessed with looking at what's going on with peoples hair. Well i guess that i should be since i'm getting my cosmetology license right now. I just want to reach out and say let me help you . I see this one lady all the time, i so want to trip her ends for her.

Good thread

All the freaking time.. I be thinking can't you tell your hair need some moisture and not that brown gel or that relaxer you bought from the dollar store :wallbash:

This gives me an idea for another post ;)

Oh...I do it all the time and just like you, I do it regardless of race. But I find that I feel really confused when white women come out with their hair looking all dry and split and frayed. But then I have to remind myself that their hair needs moisture too.

I think things like that all the time. . . regardless of race. The worse offenders are the bleach blondes who flat iron the heck out of their hair.
