A stylist told me to burn my shed hair, mix the ash with some castor oil and rub the mixture on my scalp for growth. That was pre lhcf, and of course I did it faithfully and do not remover the results.

Same. I cant speak for all West Indians, but thats what my family do. It's automatic for me now. Just flush it down the loo. Don't leave it lying about because it can be used against you.
Its quite practical actually.

Why is it practical?

What did they do with the hair before they had toilets that flushed? :look:

Some of these "old time sayings" makes me wonder who came up with this stuff because it is obvious that people being doing these things for but so long.

What about shed weave hair?

:lachen:

I can't see any mentions on my IPhone. PM me if it is a must see. Allons y

Nope,just toss it the trash...

Old folks have a lot of sayings...lol..

Happy Hair Growing!

My Haitian roommate in college use to do that. She looked at me like I was crazy when I threw my hair in the trash. When I lived with her she got me in a habit of properly throwing out my hair, nail clippings, and mensration stuff. (Well I already know how to throw away that.)

I'm Haitian and I used to hear some people do this. Usually folks that believe in certain things. It's not mainstream...

Like someone said, old folks ya slots of sayings lol

I never heard of this stuff until I went to high school and college and became exposed to non-Americans or people with non-American parents and grandparents.

When your raised with the belief, it makes sense even if it doesn't, but when your not raised with the belief, its just sounds like rubbish. I find it interesting to know others belief. I also find "some" things to make sense, but I still won't practice them :)

Please excuse my iPhone; it's trying to get it together
