Broken pieces

I got a little up close and personal with my head in the mirror today and oh my... I have lots of little broken pieces from where I am way too rough with my hair...What can I do to manage these? I'm pretty sure the ends on them are split but i cant really trim hairs that average 2 inches to begin with!!!!! Is there a trick to hiding or controlling them other than shellacking my hair with pomade or something, which by the way, someone stole!(I Hate dorm life...)

Wearing a braidout or twistout might work to hide them. The shorter pieces would just blend in with the rest of your hair. Just make use you keep them well moisturized like the rest of your hair.
