Did you start your hair journey here at Long Hair Care Forum? If not where?
Do you still go to other boards? If so where?

Yup, this was the first board I ever found. I sometimes visit DHCF and let'stalkhair.com, but this is mainly where I go.

nope...I fell for that Cathy Howse stuff and $42 dollars later I knew nothing more about haircare and around that time, my hair became more damaged!
It was when I was looking at reviews of her book on amazon that I found out about LHCF since someone posted a link.

No, I didn't start my journey here but my journey lead me here. I use to visit TLHC. But I'm here to stay unless they BANN me.:)

I just found letstalkhair, it's such a pretty board, but kinda quiet. I wish there was another board as busy as this one (minus BHM).

Yeah, that's the one thing I hate, it's not very active...oh well, I get my fix here.

I started my hair journey on another board, but didnt find it satisfying because it wasnt as busy. There were very few members there, and although everyone was really nice, it just wasnt as active as i would have liked. I was only there for a month or so... maybe less. Then i found LHCF, and have been here ever since!!!!

Yep, I started my hair journey here back in 2004 when I had relaxed hair.
Yes, I go to other hair boards... Our Hair Journeys, Happy Curls, Nappturality, & Long Hair Community.... but I do not frequent those boards as much as I have this one. :)

Originally I was so sick of my damaged hair that I was looking for someone to put in a sew-in weave in my area. I found out about Reniece thru the BHM site and when I went to see her she told me about THIS board. So I logged on and I am SO glad I did. You all have truly changed the way I feel about and treat my hair! I'll never leave:D

I started my Journey on this board. I started lurking in Oct 03 and joined Jan 04. I would not dream of joining another board. I started lurking on other boards but they were not active at all.

I started mine at Black Hair Media. The girls over there are always talking about LHCF. I like it here muuuuch better.:D

I first started my hair journey as a natural, so I began on nappturality. After that, I found a link to BHM, and joined over there. They kept talking about LHCF, so I googled it, and it lead me to TLHC and finally, LHCF. I visit all the forums everyday.

I sorta started here. I found it because I was searching online for hair styles because I was tired of wearing braids and wanted to learn to love my hair. I found the site about a year before I actually joined. I saw many sites, but this one just seems to be nicer. Sometimes I look at other boards but I prefer LHCF.

This site has been great for me. I never though I would be able to go without braids or a relaxer. WHO KNEW!? :D :D

I actually started my hair journey through a book about healthy black hair.

...But anyway, I was searching the internet about lacefronts which led me to BHM. I saw posts that had LHCF in it but I did not know what it was. BHM led me to fotki, and while on fotki, someone had a LHCF link on their page(I think JenniferMD, cocowhite, or dontspeakdefeat...i can't remember but I was on their fotkis a lot :look: ), i clicked on the link and I've been here ever since.

I started on the Crown and Glory website and nappturality.com while trying to grow out my hair. After becoming hair-obsessed, i cooled it, then found this site.

Funny how I started at BHM first too, but was just in lurk mode mostly looking at pics. Then I found this website because I found it much more useful. I guess you could say I pretty much started my hair journey here when I first cut my hair and decided to purposely grow it out.

Luckily I started my hear journey here. I think my hair is the better for it. I have not even visited other hair boards nor do I have the desire to do so. I'm happy right where I am.:D

I initially ordered Cathy Howse's book and products. I wanted something else where I could get "live" opinions and advice on hair, so I did a search on google and this was one of the sites that came up. I visit other sites every now and then, but this is where I usually come.

I started on BHM (03/4) then Africanhair.com (I really miss that it was JUST starting to get busy when it was cancelled). Then Nappturality ( where i am mostly) also go on ourhair.net, diasporahair, blackhairtalk( but these are infrequently). Then Here. I will stay at BHM ( even though i ahven't been there for ages) because thats where i started, it has a sentimental if crazy!lol! memory for me.

My journey started with me taking care of my own hair then doing research..found this website and it's been a happy pair ever since.

I started at NP, and moved on because they don't talk about hair all that much - it more about the politics of hair there.... then I found TLHC, then I found LHCF....

I'm mainly on TLHC and LHCF - I'll stroll through NP for style ideas, but that's about it....

I originally went to letstalkhair.com. Through that site, I found LHCF. Now, LHCF is the site I visit the most.

I found NP while looking for pictures of cornrowed styles online my freshman year of college (Feb 2003). I was wearing braid extensions at the time and thinking about transitioning. I didn't really like the vibe I got and wasn't sure if I wanted to transition or not, so I stopped visiting. After a massive hair cut that April (2 years worth of progress from a short hair cut to shoulder length hair gone due to too tight braids) I started reading every book about black hair I could get a hold of in the library. I actually started my journey after reading Shamboosie's book. That's what got me hooked on Nexxus products. I didn't find LHCF until 2 years later (Summer 05) after I checked out BHM and it took forever to get approved. I didn't start making any real progress until I started posting here though. And now I'm starting all over again with all the knowledge I've gained from being here. I love LHCF!! :D

I started my hair journey here after a bad experience from a stylist. I googled long hair care and found this site. My hair thanks me for it, and I thank everyone on this site who have been so helpful!!!!!:rosebud:

I started searching online for hair care products, purchased and tried some. That motivated me to learn more about turning around my hair care practices. I purchased two good hair care books from Amazon.com: The Black Women's Guide to Healthy Hair in Six Weeks, by Carolyn Gray and Healthy Black Hair: Step-by-Step Instructions for Growing Longer, Stronger Hair by Nicole Elizabeth Smith. Great, easy to follow how-tos!

Then, when I was searching for something online, I came across LHCF. It had an answer to a question I asked in a thread. I only lurked for a few days and joined right away! This is the first forum I have ever joined and I am glad to be here!

I started my journey a few years ago on my own to fix the hair problems I was having from a botched relaxer and awful hair cut. I bought several books for some knowledge, but wasn’t crazy about most of them. Fortunately, I had a great stylist—really a hair care specialist—who helped my hair to recover over a period of about two years, and maintained my hair’s health thereafter. In April 2005, I began transitioning, but almost a year later got my hair texturized. After these last several “working” years (and “business” coiffures), I decided I wanted my long hair back, and went in a search for even more knowledge that bought me to LHCF. :D

I started at Relaxed Hair Forum which led me to LHCF a few weeks later. I don't have the time to visit some other forums I like that often, such as BHM and Long Hair Community, but I do on occasion. LHCF is by far most active and the most informative.
