I am on the braids challenge now! I've been wearing braids for about 3 months now. I get them re-done every month and I surge twice a day. I don't actually "wash" my hair. I seabreeze my scalp or I put conditioner on a bath cloth and wet it. I rub that all over my scalp and rinse out each section as I go. Kinda like a modified conditioner wash. I take my hair down every month, so that's when I wash and clarify it with ACV, but I just cleanse my scalp the rest of the month.
I had kinky twist extensions for almost 3 months. I used surge almost everyday, and moisturized with braidspray and oils after every surge spray. I washed once per week. When I took the twist I maybe a little more growth than usual but nothing spectacular. The problem was the flakes. I was so embarssed by the HUGE white flakes that were falling from my head. I was corrected in about two weeks with conditioner washes and laying off the surge.

So this constant washing doesn't mess up the braids? Also did you notice more growth with the braids and surge?

If you noticed, I don't wash the braids, I just cleanse my scalp. I put the conditioner on a rag and lather it up, then use it on my scalp...
I used Surge on my braids consistantly for about 4 weeks. I followed the directions by spraying it two times a day and I also followed it up with a moisturizer. As for washing, I washed my hair 2 times a week when I had braids. Surge helped a lot (pics are in my album). HTH
I use surge on my scalp when I have braids, but like some of the ladies here, (the last time) I had dry scalp & some flakes. So I added T-tree oil to my last batch of surge and it works really well now!
