Hi, new here. I'm definately going to try this method (warm) next time I deep condition. This board has so much great information! :)

Imma try this because I hate having to go to the shower, shampoo, get out of the shower, put the con in my hair, leave it on for 15-30 then get back into the shower to rinse. This will be easier for me.

See this is why I stay off the hair boards while in braids...I want ot try this. What conditioner are u all using?

I know dats right!

I am in braids. I can't wait to take them out and see my hair again. I was starting to get my supplies stocked back up. I did my first rollerset and braidout right before I got the braids. I also got more buns and was thinking of getting a phoney phone. Then I got braids. No worries I am doing the braid regime and using Surge twice a day.

maybe I'll try the deep conditioning wash this way and set under the dryer. When I get out of braids of course!

I get out as much water as possible before adding conditioner and the slap on a plastic cap. Makes my hair feel wonderful :) I've done it on completely dry hair and got the same results. I think the main thing to do if it's not dry is to get out as much water as possible so that the water isn't blocking the conditioner from working to its potential.

In the newest SELF magazine, I read that hair reaps more of the benefits of a deep conditioner if you apply it to dry hair. The theory is, when your hair is wet or damp, it will absorb less of the deep conditioner. I tried it last night and I think it does work pretty well. Has anyone else tried this?

I was on the Aubrey Organics site and noticed a lot of their conditioners suggest applying it to DRY hair when you want a deep conditioning.

I like to do a pre-poo deep conditioning treatment with mayo, olive oil, and a small squirt of moisturizing conditioner. I put this on dry hair, cover with a plastic cap and sit under the dryer for 30 minutes. Then I usually get in the shower and shampoo and recondition , but I think I'm going to try this with just a co-wash and see what happens. But when I rinse the pre-poo out, my hair feels so good. Nice and soft and I can run my fingers right through it. I think this time I will follow up with my Lustrasilk cholesterol and Motions After Shampoo Moisturizing Conditioner. Then I will put in my Cantu leave-in and rollerset. That should be interesting. What do you guys think?

Yes, I love the AO Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner. I apply it to dry hair, and it works fantastic. I leave in on with a plastic cap, and then rinse it out a half an hour later. Then I shampoo with the Honeysuckle Rose Shampoo and apply some more conditioner, rinse it out, and then I'm good to go! I love doing this in the wintertime since my hair and scalp seems to be extra dry.

I am trying this method as a prepoo right now using Suave Awapuhi mixed with a little EVOO. I then I will shampoo and deep condition as usual. I usually wet my hair when I prepoo but hopefully this will be better.

I'm glad someone revived this thread.

I've never tried this before (for DEEP conditioning), but did today and LOVED it.

It's now a permanent part of my routine.

Ok, I rinsed and shampooed with NTM and my hair was SO SOFT! OMG! I didn't even want to condition again! I did though. But this is my method from now on, prepooing and CW's. Thanks ladies!!!
