Ordered the same hair but with the 27 instead of 30. Going to ask my friend to help me take my braids out because you can re-use this hair. I don’t want to cut it out.

Taking it down Friday evening hopefully.

Took my crochet braids out. Sitting in a henna gloss. I’m going to rinse it out in a few , shampoo , condition, and a 10 minute deep conditioner. Add leave in conditioner and revair.

My hair feels fuller and looks longer. I’m going to just pull it out slightly tonight and then tomorrow a little more so I can get my crochet braids reinstalled.

I feel so relieved that all my hard work is paying off. My unstretched hair is visibly longer. My stretched hair is visibly longer and thicker. I feel good about my routine going into 2025.

I did tweak it slightly because this henna gloss covered my grays nicely.

4 weeks braided style. Infusium Pro and Taliah Waliah Bodifier on my cornrows under the crochet braids.

Take down. Henna Gloss. Bondbar shampoo conditioner. Deep conditioner. (Thinking about Olaplex leave in and Sarenzo Batana leave in)

Solid vitamin supplement routine

One week down. Three weeks to go in my latest protective style. I’ll be interested to see if my hair feels different in three weeks when I take it down as I’ve stopped taking Geritol to see how Mary Ruth impacts my hair for the next three months.

I don’t plan on trimming my hair again until March 21st , 2025.

I need to repurchase some Bondbar shampoo , conditioner and deep conditioner as I’m almost out.

Two weeks down and two weeks to go before I take my hair down. I’m debating on how I want my hair because I’ll be goin on a short birthday cruise for my youngest on the 23rd and I’ll be taking my hair down on the 18th.

I will not be able to get my hair crochet back up until the 19th which is fine. I think im going to ask my friend can be pre plan my hair schedule barring any thing she has so I can be on a solid schedule for 2025. I do not want to keep my hair braided more than 4 weeks at a time. I think 5-6 weeks is pushing it and my hair and scalp suffer. I just need to figure out what hair I want to install. I think this Saturday , I’m going up to the BSS and take a look before I order anything.

This year and 2026 , I want my hair to be very low maintenance and only have to daily spritz and take my supplements.
  • Quarterly trims.
  • Monthly henna.
This weekend I need to reup on my shampoo and conditioners from Bondbar.

2027, I plan to wear my hair out , dependent on my job location. This new job commute has really shaped my whole routine with everything.

One more week of this protective style and then it comes out on Saturday. I need to get to Sally’s to pick up my shampoo. I’ve been procrastinating about it seeing how I know I can get it locally.

Taking the kitten to the groomers in the morning , then stopping by Sally’s to pick up my shampoo/conditioner.

I can’t wait to take my hair down Saturday afternoon

Almost coming up on two weeks this Sunday. I don’t like this crochet hair this time around. It tangles very easily.

But I have two weeks to figure something out. Thinking about soft locs

I'm on Day 3 of taking down these mini twists that I finished on Jan 1st. I want to be finished, washed and DC'd so that I can install another style on Feb 1st. I started just transitioning to bigger twists in the back but I've been contemplating just throwing in some cornrows and a crochet style.

During my HHJ, one of my best growth and retention years was a year where I primarily wigged it daily. I know I wore cornrows but I also sometimes wore plaits under my wigs. I'm thinking about trying it again so that it's easier to rock a braid out or something if I have to wear my hair out.

I’ve had my hair in braids all year last year, and I can see this year going a similar way. I’m still in boho style braids. I’ve been cutting away heat damage and growing out my crown. I want to achieve a full and healthy hemline. A constant my routine this time has been trimming and Jamaican black castor oil, used in my LCO. Amika leave-in has been my L, and I’ve been switching out the C with whatever creamy leave-in or twisting butter has taken my fancy. Currently using (for the first time) the Adwoa Blue Tansy leave-in. I like it so far- it’s been about 4 days

The lower half of my hair tends to grow in strong and faster than the top, but thanks to frequent trimming all round, and moisturising my hair with intent to keep it moist and supple (only recently realised I need to up my frequency), my ends are looking good when I rebraid. The front is passed chin length, and the back is around APL, but I do plan to cut my hair to an even length when I eventually take down these braids. Hair life is very manageable right now, and I’m enjoying the ease.

I was looking at the difference between my unstretched hair in Oct 24 versus Jan 25. I plan on trimming my ends in March when I take down my next install as I trimmed in December.

I’m going on another mini cruise in 13 days so when I take this hair down on the 15th and reinstall on the 16th , it will be just in time to look fresh.

I have a spot in the very front of my hairline where I’ve been debating whether I want to try out one of the items linked below but I’m not sure which one I want to go with.

I had posted this picture in a thread back in 2016 to show the length of my torso and how far APL is from SL. Then BSB ( Below Shoulder Blade) and then how close the Top of My BSL is from the bottom of my Bra Strap.

The first line was where my hair was at at the time and the long line of course is APL.

@Bette Davis Eyes , I can't wait to see your progress!!

I decided to just install 5 cornrows, which I did last Wed. I'm getting ready to refresh them either today or tomorrow. I plan to refresh them weekly bc I want to avoid any matting and tangling issues. I've got a lot of new growth and I'd rather get some tension on it than to let it accumulate and mat up. I'm just not a good cornrower and I don't trust anyone else in my head. My cornrows stay under a mens satin skull cap and a bandana or satin scarf. If I really need to, I'll throw on a wig to go somewhere.

As I was taking down my braids last night I could smell my leave in conditioner I used last time after washing. Sarenzo Carmel Batana Leave in. There was a slight build up at the roots from a little oil but the shaft of the hair nada. Just the pleasant smell.

I used a different leave in this time though. I wanna for use it up and see if there’s a vast difference. Natures Ego Bentonite Clay LI. She’s not actively restocking this though. It’s more of a limited time pop up now and again.

I used Sally’s Bond Repair Shampoo , Conditioner and Deep Treatment after rinsing henna gloss out.
