Here goes...
Innocently, I arrived at my humble abode for some afternoon refreshment after a hard day's work (No class today, just paid my bills). Near the mailboxes in my dorm were two boxes. According to a source, they've been there for several days. One box filled with Dove deodorant samples and the other (gasp!) Dove moisturizing shampoo and conditioner samples!!!
What's the big deal, you say. You can get these samples anywhere. But ladies let me tell you this: the samples were endless! Scores and scores of Dove hair care samples!
I couldn't resist... like a carjacker in the middle of the night about 80 sample packets were gone in 5 minutes.
Yes that was greedy. But I was thinking of summer washes and moisture. It was a hot day and my scalp was screaming for water!!
With my backpack now a few pounds heavier, I walked to the exit only to be stopped by a fellow resident.
"That's alot of Dove samples", he said. Panicking, I checked my backpack to see if it was properly closed, only to find out he was pointing to the remaining samples in the box. (Yes, I did leave plenty for everyone else.)
"No one is going to use those, too oily," he said.
"You want them? Half are gone anyway..."
Exploiting his ignorance on Black hair I pointed to my braids. "I don't use those products."
With an uncertainty in his voice he said, "Oh yeah, sorry!" and departed.
Little does he know in a week's time this girl is going to take up the dorm shower once she's out of the braids.
My name is Bobbie. I am a product junkie with a Dove addiction.
PS: Everyone knows this but it's worth stating: I'm beginning to expect quality hair care products from companies with excellent skin care products. First Neutrogena, now Dove.
