In Love with Dove

I got a free sample of the shampoo and conditioner when I went to Walmart last week; I'll try them tomorrow!
 
I bought a bottle yesterday at Duane Reade. When I got home that night I rinsed my hair with it and then left it on while I showered. My hair was super smooth and soft! Im glad I found another staple other than Salerm 21 which I
love.gif
. I also used a small amount of Dove as a leave in and it was great!

I am DYING to find the deep conditioner (the intensive moisture one?) but they don't have it at the Duane Reade I've been purchasing the regular conditoners from.

Whooops!!! That's the conditioner I have. Not the one in your first post. That's what I get for not reading it through. I was just looking at Dove and conditioner and jumping up and down because I KNOW the intense moisture Dove conditioner is just the bomb. Used it again last night for a conditioner wash and the comb just went right through my 30 weeks of new growth. I'll have to try the regular conditioner (after I've used all the remaining 15+ conditioners that I have already).

Try Walmart it is about $3.25 it is concentrated so lasts quite a while. I bought it out of desperation when I was overseas and I would definitely buy it again.

I'm dreading not having a Dom. salon nearby - but the cost of living (right down to the products) will certainly be a fair enough trade off.

I tried out a few of their free conditioner and shampoo samples a few months ago. Very moisturizing! It has a nice scent too.
 
I just bought some....I am not too impressed with my VO5 anymore, it leaves my hair feeling stringy and knotted. Also my faithful Pantene S&S, is not leaving my hair so smooth and sleek anymore....I think it may be all the crazy weather changes in my area! I am not going to sit around and wait for my hair to get worse...I hope this Dove works well on my hair...if not...the search continues!!!!!

pantene has tones of cones in it and it may make your hair more dry in the long run. this maybe why your hair isnt responding. i find that when i use pantene for daily co washes, i have to clarify more often

dove also has cones as well.
 
Hi Tracey, I don't know what part of Bklyn you're in but they built a new Walmart in the Green Acres shopping mall off Sunrise Highway in Valley Stream. It took the place of Kmart over by Home Depot.
 
Thanks for the info.! I was given free samples of the shampoo and conditioner but didn't know if my hair would like them. Now I'm looking forward to trying them.
 
Is there hondahoney? Neat. Green acres amll is in Queens/Long Island...but at least there's one in NY.

Ok, I've decided to give in to my pjism and purchase this product when I run out of other conditioner wash products. I am wondering how it compares to Suave Humectant...

Do you have the ingredients list? I'm wondering about cones and if the Dove conditioners have the same cones as Pantene. I've been wondering lately if Pantene is doing my hair more harm than good...b/c it's been so dry lately.
 
That's ok...I found the ingredients list on the web. Here it is in case anyone else is interested:

Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Cetrimonium Chloride, Fragrance, Dimethiconal, Quaternium-18, Potassium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Propylene Glycol, DMDM Hydantoin, TEA-Dodecylbenzenesulfonate, Lysine Hydrochloride, Silk Amino Acids (Alanine, Glycine, Serine, Arginine, Isoleucine, Cystine, Histidine, Glutamic Acid), Borage Extract (Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Linoleic Acid, Oleic Acid, Eicosenoic Acid), Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone

This is for the Intense Moisture Conditioner.

The cone I was thinking of was Dimethiconol....
 
Hmm, I am thinking I'd like to try it. Dove has dimethiconal as opposed to dimethicone that Pantene has. Suave Humectant has dimethiconal like the Dove. I didn't have a problem with dryness using Suave Humectant but I just wondered if something better was out there. So, I will give the Dove a try in a couple of weeks.

I wish I could find more info on cones...
 
There's a lot of info on cones on lovehairlovers.

They are totally against cones a lot of them, so they discuss it a lot.

I may look into this.That thing about VO5s turning bad scares me.I will rotate this with my VO5s if I like it
