Can you work out (ie. sweat) before your relaxer???

Hi Ladies,

I've been working out 4-5 days a week lately trying to get fit! Anyway my question is, should I stop working out (because of sweating in my scalp) now since I plan to relax next thursday or friday.

Thanks in advance...

Dont work out at all 24hours before you get your relaxer, as soon as it gets slapped on youll feel the worst sensation you ever felt in your life, pores cant be open no washing or sweating or scratching

i agree at least 24 hours.

I second that advice. Awhile back i was on my way to get my touch-up and it was really hot in my car. Well it opened my pores and i didnt know it...that pain makes you wanna slap somebodies mama. No Joke.

When I was expecting my daughter, I would walk to the salon. My hair dresser would put me under the dryer with it set on "cool" for several minutes before applying the relaxer. She said that the pores on my scalp would be open and cause me to burn (I seem to be prone to burning, anyway). Anyway, my baby was born in April so it couldn't have been that hot but she still took that precaution. I miss her.

I stop working out a couple of days b4 I use a relaxer. That's just what I do b/c I've been burned and won't take any chances of that ever happening, again.

Recently I"ve started working out every morning mon-fri and i sweat like crazy when I do. I just got a relaxer last tues and I don't think it affected anything. I think as long as your hair is dry when you get to the salon you should be ok. But everybody's scalp is different ;)

Hmmmm, thanks for the advice....Maybe I can skip the cardio this week, and just do weights monday-wednesday...and relax on thursday evening.

That's a good idea. I've gotten burns from doing cardio, then getting a relaxer the same day. I wait to take a shower after my relaxer, too. I don't want a warm shower opening up my pores - I've been burned from that, too.
