I am currently 2 months and half post relaxer and in braids. When I get to the 3 month mark I want to get my hair pressed for a while. Anywayz, My ? is what do you use when pressing your hair. I want my hair to look relaxed, but not so greasy, you know what I mean?

Thanks if you could help!

hye kamilla,
well i press a lot and i use ultra sheen pressing creme and ampro curl wax. first i is the ultra sheen in damp hair then blow dry then press. and then i add the ampro near my scalp to prevent my hair reverting. you might want to go to professional though so that you don't fry your two textures. good luck.

Iam 4a/b relaxed
I wash and deep condition my hair
then I put a bit of wgo and a very small amount of rusk
I blow dry and then use my ceramic flat Iron, my hair comes out soft and straight. I have been doing this for over a year now w/out any problems

I am a month and a half past relaxer, and when I use pressing creams my hair is way too greasy. I use design essentials reflections shine spray or kemi oyl to press. I just make sure I use enough to coat the hair.

Hi, Kamilla. I press and I have finally discovered a way to eliminate the greasies!

After washing, I use a leave-in conditioner with oil mixed in. Then I put my hair in big twists to dry.

Once it's dry, I press using Ultra sheen's satin creme press. If you apply too much (it may take a few tries to get the "just right" amount) it will feel greasy and weigh your hair down, but at least for me, this will only last for a day. You do want to be sure to use enough though so your hair is protected as much as possible from the heat.

For maintenance, I use my jojoba/castor/olive/rosemary oil mix each night on my hair and scalp.

I press my hair with Apex pressing Oil, which to me, isn't greasy at all. My mom uses Ultra Sheen. I have also heard good things about Dudley's Creme Press also, but I've never tried it.

My advice is pretty much the same as pressncurl's.

Applying oil to wet hair is the key. It minimizes the greasies considerably. I prefer liquid oils rather than the solids though and I'm especially lovin' my avocado oil!

i use my melted shea butter and it feels like i had a perm after i am done...this is my stuff

Thanks Everyone,
I made an appointment for Wednesday to get my hair pressed. One more ?, whaat can I do to maintain my pressed hair? How long does your hair last?

wrap it at night with a satin scarf and try not to sweat or get your hair wet. That will make it revert. My press lasts 1-2 weeks.

Thanks Jaibee, I also remembered that it might last longer because my hair is relaxed. (I guess I kind of forgot!)

Yeah Kamilla since you still have some relaxed hair you probably will be able to keep the press pretty well. Good luck!

I agree with Jaibee, wrap your hair at night. If you sweat or get your hair wet in any way, what I do is, when you get home, put some grease on top, rub around your head, then do a TIGHT wrap, when you take the wrap out, your hair should be back 95% straight.
