Can someone explain what sea salt does?

Hi all,
So I know I've read that we can add sea salt to our conditioner, but I can't remember what it does. I've done a search but could not find anything regarding our hair, just how beneficial it is to our skin (which was definitely a bonus). Someone please help me out with the benefits?

I'm not sure of the benefits either; however, I tried it for the first time last week and, girl, I haven't stopped using it. I was having trouble with tangling and this concoction seemed to straighten the hair and it was tangle free and a lot more manageable. I'm incorporating this as one of my cowashes. You should really try it.

Bumping for more replies, because I too would like to know the benefits even though I already can't quit using it.

I am no expert....but I am not too sure about using sea salt in your hair.
You see my son is growing locs and I was by his hair stylest to spray with water and seasalt to help make his hair lock faster....so if this is helpful with locking I don't think it would be a go for us...
just sharing what has been told to me

I actually use Epsom Salt. I read that on some hair thread somewhere. I've never heard of using Sea Salt. Anyone know what the difference is?:ohwell:

Salt "softens" water. It's like generically softening your water when you're rinsing out your conditioner (with the sea salt in it).
