How to blow dry my hair properly? I mean I know how to blow dry...but my new growth situation is out of control right now. I cut my hair about a month ago, so now I'm dealing with 4-5weeks of NG on this inverted bob style. Not sexy to say the least.

I don't want to use heat, but I can't carry on this way for another 5 weeks. I'm not good at roller setting. I've been trying to flat iron once a week - still not working.

I air dry 2x a week to avoid blowdrying - but I'm wondering if this is my only solution at this point?

With that said...what are some blowdrying tips to get my hair really straight....like the Dominicans :yep:

**Pebs/Allandra PLEASE dont move me thread to the hair board, I don't know them over there! :nono:

:lachen::lachen::lachen:

I use the dryer with the comb attachment. I saturate the hair with setting lotion. I section my hair into eight section, 4 at the back and 4 at the front. I attach the comb and turn the dryer on  j/k

I start at the very back and work my way up. Easier that way for me. Once I finish a section I pin that section back up. When done I flat iron.

she now betta. I hope Allandra come up here and moves it:lachen::lachen:

ETA: Oh to answer your question. THis is wha I have to do.

Apply leave -in and seal
Make part my hair in quarters or thirds and make twist or braids, hold in place with a bobby-pin, apply a little mango butter on the edges, wrap my head in a scarf (to ge the edges to lay down).
let it air dry for a few hours
take down, one section at a time
apply serum/heat protectant (I've been using Sabino Moisture Block)
part in smaller section
take round brush (small one), starting at the root
point dryer in same downward direction and go down with the brush to the end of the hair
do this all over

SR_ I blow dry alot:look:

I have a round brush and a tourmaline ionic dryer. The key is grabbing those roots (I don't have new growth but I have SUPER curly hair) with that brush and making sure they are pulled straight enough to get the curl out. I pull the brush through but not so much on the ends. After I BD, I flat iron and again get those roots. I section my hair off before I blow dry into like 8 sections.

The trick is to make sure you get the roots dry or you'll look like a frizz ball:look:

I know, dem folks scare me too :look:

Me too. I already reported it.

you aint even right quest!! :lachen: tryna give me fractions!

You lucky you dont live close by or else I'd show up on your front porch (i'd take my shoes ofcourse) with my blowdryer in one hand and a bucket of fried chicken and malt liquor in the other!

On sopping wet hair use some lottabody setting lotion and a dimesized spot of Chi Silk Infusion.

Blowdry on high, I use my denman bush to stretch the newgrowth straight as my hair dries (especially around the front part)

Just as its sort of damp, I put a few drops of oil and another dime size blob of Chi on the ends

I've got a an ion blowdryer, don't know if that makes much of a difference.

it works for some of us.....over there in that other forum:lachen::lachen:

If you want to get it super straight, you can use a rattail comb, concentrating the nozzle on the roots. Do you know how to use a roundbrush?

You surely would be welcomed in.:yep:

Ok SR, Jlove74 gave you her instructions. Now take a look at her hair:

Hope you don't mind Jlove. This picture is from a thread in the hair forum about clear rinses/cellophanes. Isn't her hair gorgeous. It has been blowdried and flat ironed.

:nono:. I'd mess around and have all my hair wrapped in that brush. I'll be at work tomorrow morning with it still tangled up in my head
