Buy Nothing til Jan 09 Challenge!

Add me to the list. After my HairVeda order comes in I should be good until the end of the year. But I WILL be using a pass or two at Christmas time. :look:

ETA: I guess I need a reward... Hmmm... shescentit.com's Banana Brulle Conditioner and Gillian No Tears Butter has been on my list so I guess I'll buy those.

I am so happy to see that more and more people are joining in! Welcome dcprdiva, mango387, loulou82 and livinlauginlovin! I will add everyone to the list.

Loulou82--I think you should go bigger than that for your reward ! But of course that is up to you ;)!

It seems my list is getting longer of things to buy before the challenge. Oh well I know I will not buy anything in the 3 months then. I am really trying to not use any passes.

I admire you challengers, but who am I kidding? :nono: Broke as I am, I need to be 'shamed... I'm a PJ to the core of my being and I'm not ready for an intervention! :look:

So my big order from Hairveda came today. When she opens back up the store I plan to order more. I also need to go to Sally's then I will be set for this challenge.

Now this is crazy! Its getting out of hand. NO ONE can pass this challenge.

Not possible. And Xmas is coming up too? All those xmas sales you have to miss out on and you can't even buy a bobby pin?

You know how much stuff is scheduled to be released in the next three months?

:lachen: :lachen:

I'm in Girlie you're not alone. I have to stop, I have enough oils and supps to take me into 2010. I can't even tell anyone how much I've spent in the last 90 days. with 3 passes I'm good put me on the list, I got my MN and I can use my passes if I run out and can't sub.

YOU MUST BE INSANE!! ...What if I just...SUDDENLY need some form of hair supplies by...November LOOOL! I've been eyeing some Conair Ion Shine Rollers....LOL.....

That is kinda bad for my hair though....hmmm

MAN YOU GOT ME. COUNT ME IN.....

I just kno I'm going to regret this.... :perplexed

I'm not gonna even fake the funk.
Wish all my LHCF sistahs all the luck. I'm thinking right now what all I have to get tomorrow. So I know I failed this one.

Wow! I don't know how you all are going to do this. I'm impressed. Shamefully, I couldn't even make it through the buy nothing for September challenge. I wish I could. I'll be watching. Wish you all the best.

Best of luck ladies!!!

I'm with the PJs - I'm still experimenting so no way I could do this. I buy something hair related every weekend! And if it really doesn't work for me - my sister & a less fortunate co-worker (she has a household full of diff hair textures) get all my hand me downs. So hey - I'm helping the community!!!

Once I find my hair groove I'm sure I can tone the spending down. Maybe in 2009...but uhm..maybe 1 month at a time.

Count me in, I was just thinking the other day that I seriously need help. I just bought 2 expensive flat irons this week plus a number of high end products over the last couple of weeks. I'm at the point of sneaking stuff in the house cuase I don't want DH to know how much I really spend. I need an intervention.

Welcome Belle Creole, Krazyncute0188, nubiangoddess3, and achangedlife! I will add all of you to the list. I really didn't think I would get this many people to join so I am really happy!

Thanks to all of the well wishers! I know we can all do this!

I thought it might be interesting to everyone for me to list what I bought in the last month. So you can see why an intervention is so necessary. Now I am the stock up kinda girl but this is ridiculous. Also I was basically starting from scratch. So here goes:

General
plastic caps
satin scarf
applicator brushes (2)
spray bottles (2)
boar bristle brush
rat tail combs (2)
wide tooth comb
alcohol to clean brushes
headbands (3)
Creme of Nature Shampoo (7--32 oz)
Organic/Unrefined Coconut Oil
Giovanni Leave In Condtioner (2)
Hairclips
Snap on rollers (6 packs, 2 different sizes--3 packs of each)

Mizani
Relaxer for Sensitive Scalp (4 applications)
H20 Intensive Night Time Tx
Phormula 7 Chelating and Neutralizing Shampoo (33.8 oz)
Shyne Spray

Hairveda
Vatika Frosting (5)
Moisture 24/7 Condish (2)
Whipped Creme (2)
Avosoya Oil (2)
Sitranillah DC (1--41 oz and 2--8oz)

What I already had
Carol's Daughter Rosemary Mint Shampoo (2)
CD Some of Magurite's Magic (2)
CD Healthy Hair Butter
CD Khoret Ahmen Hair Smoothie (3)
CD Khoret Ahmen Leave In Spray
CD Khoret Ahmen Hair Oil
CD Hair Milk
plastic caps
paddle brush
satin bonnet
hooded hair dryer
hand held hair dryer
comb that was not wide tooth

To Get Before Challenge Begins
Sally's--
Ponytail holders (got it)
Bobby pins (got it)
Satin bonnet (took off list since I have one and a scarf too)
More headbands (got em)

Hairveda--
Almond glaze (2)
Whipped jelly (2)
Moist condition pro (2)
Moist condtion 24/7 (1)
Hydrospritz (2)

General--
Apple Cider Vinegar (got 2)

Hairveda products are my replacement for the Carol's Daughter products. I want to use as many natural products as possible just because my hair is so dry that all those extra ingredients probably don't help it. Once I really paid attention I realized the CD products weren't doing much for my hair. The smoothies are actually okay but with less ingredients and a better price I was willing to try Hairveda's sitranillah as my dc.

CD will still make money off of me bc her bath & body products are the only ones that keep my skin moisturized. When I run out of my original mango body butter I will probably switch to Hairveda's Shealoe bc CD no longer sells this particular body butter which is for extremely dry skin. I will eventually switch from Mary Kay to CD for my facial products too. LOL--My whole body is just dry, dry, and dry and I feel natural is best.

I'm sorry it seems I have given you my whole life story :lachen:!

So I think I'll join. SO read about the challenge and betted that I couldn't hang, so it's on and poppin'. Salon visits are allowed, right?

Welcome Shana! I will add you to the list. My BF laughed. He keeps looking in the hall closet and in the bathroom and laughing. We can do it! Yes, Salon visits are allowed. Now if you buy products while at the salon you would have to use a pass.

:perplexed I'll need some "hep me Jesus" for real. I'm already feeling the shakes. So... who's gonna be around to smack the crack out my hand :fishslap: ?

Count me in. For a b-day present to myself, I purchased the natural beauty kit from DE and a big bottle of Aphogee keratin 2 minute reconstructor to use for my own personal 3 month KISS challenge. This will make me stay on track for sure.

ETA: I purchased a bottle of MT yesterday and another order from DE. I am officially done.

and that's all i'm going to need

i also just received some hairveda stuff

(sitrinillah and vatika frosting)

so, i'll be using those also...but in ways that'll make them last longer for me.

i definitely need to save money.
