I think I am going back to blowdrying my hair. Air drying in a ponytail was fine when I was freshly relaxed but since I have begun transitioning, pulling wet hair into a ponytail is a detangling disaster even in the shower with conditioner in my hair. I have begun blow drying my hair about 60-70% dry on cool before styling and I have reduced my sheading by about 60%. I had been clogging up the drain the last few times I washed my hair but now I get a normal amount of shedding. I also do not manipulate my hair while blowdrying. I keep the dryer pointed down and just move the dryer, being careful not to blow the hair around at all. Do you think I will suffer any long term damage from doing this? I really don't want to start using heat this early in my transition but air drying is causing so much shedding. I hope blow drying on cool will be a good compromise.
