I HOPE A LOT OF PPL HAVE LEARNT A LESSON FROM THIS!!!!:lachen::lachen:

After Judge Cabrera’s historic ruling, little Clitoria Jackson :lachen:will likely undergo a name change.

"It’s so hard to keep coming up with something unique," said Uneeqqi Jenkins, 22, an African-American mother of seven who survives on public assistance. Her children are named Daryl, Q’Antity, Uhlleejsha, Cray-Ig, Fellisittee, Tay’Sh’awn and Day’Shawndra.

"Oh my God, the first day of school you’d be standing there sweating, looking at the list of names wondering ‘How do I pronounce Q’J’Q’Sha.’?" said Joyce Harmon, NAEST spokeswoman. "Is this even English?"

"I have a niece who’s six. I’m embarrassed to say I can’t even pronounce her name," said Vest, a professor at Princeton University. "Whenever I want to talk to her, I just wait until she looks at me and then I wave her over."

:lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:
Good grief I almost peed my pants from laughing so hard!

This is so funny!! :lachen::lachen:
I wonder what the war cry sounded like....maybe like Zena Warrior Princess. Lal lal lal lal..chop!

HILARIOUS :lachen::lachen:
TRUST ME...I understand this one all 2 well though. Why is it that it's only my white and asian co-workers that feel the urge to touch my... or THE hair. :look:
I don't know where they get the nerve. At least ask first.
Thing is if they ask, I'm not the kind of person to say NO.:blush:
But anyway, I also find it funny when they say 'Is that your hair'.
HELLO..Yesterday, I had a short style, today I just happened to grow 10 inches of hair :ohwell::wallbash:.
If I don't know u like that, ur invading my space! LOL

Good for her, I hate it when people try to touch my hair then the have the nerve to look at me like I'm strange when I move away.

Honest to goodness story. While in university I had this white girl approach me in the locker room (after a workout) while BUCK NAKED to touch my braids. All I was thinking was "um, I don't swing that way". She just looked too interested and I don't think it was my hair. :look: So after that incident, having people touch my hair isn't too bad...compared to a buck naked white chick..anything is better :)

she was surprised at how soft it was that that she was always taught that if you rub black ppls hair backwards you would cut your hands.

Now that's ignorance at it's worst. Did she ask you if you really had a tail too:nono:? How old was she?

LOL I just now read this. We were all in our 20's when this happened. I chalk it up to her not being raised around blacks (I can't remember but she was from some small town in W Va or similar place). Funny thing is she was married to a Hispanic man, but then they don't have our hair either.

She was serious and she actually touched my hair and one of my other co-worker's hair. It was funny. At first I was offended until I realized that she was 100% for real, not on joke time. So then (she was the only white other than our manager) we schooled her on relaxers vs. perms and weaves/extensions and why we "oil" our hair etc. She was actually appreciative. You should have seen her face when she realized how soft and non-greasy our hair was. She kept playing in our hair all the time after that. My co-worker even gave her cornrows one day. It was a trip.

She wasn't bad, just not well informed. I will take time to educate white folks on black hair if it is genuine but I will NOT entertain ignorance from them.

Girl, they are not playing. Why I got a cousin named Choy'ce? wth, why they do that to that innocent child. Oh, it's pronounced like "choice". What in the world is the apostrophe for. :nono:
