Coconut Oil, hands down! It's the best oil, ever! I keep going back to it because it's light enough for my fine tresses, but absorbs so well. So, anything with Coconut Oil, I'll take it. Right now it's Vatika Coconut Oil, Brahmi Oil, Hairveda's Vatika Frosting. All of these have Coconut Oil. I'm coming up on 13 weeks post, and my hair is absolutely loving it!!!! :worship2::worship2:

Coconut seems to be in the lead, hmm. I just got almond, jojoba and castor. I have some Parachute coconut oil which I DESPISE. It smells like old chicken grease. Maybe I need to try the refined kind. :yep:

It's funny because a few people had been saying how great parachute was, but I guess they were just triyng to promote it as a business or something.

There must be certain coconut hair based oils or straight oil that are better then others.

I think there is a typo on your link, convington. The extra L shouldn't be there I think.

As for fish oil, it can be a bit expensive. I don't know how much it can be for hair usage but I know I do take it now regularly. I just tale the capsules. There is a really good one I found at Wal Mart that are not too big, regular sized, and also no fishy smell or taste.

What's the brand name of the one at Walmart? I'd like to try something other than the one I take now. Pills are too big.

Barry Fletcher Liquid Moisture Oil
Palma Christi Oil-stinks but effective
Coconut oil and Jojoba oil

Victomae, let me grab my bottle :)

Okay it was a really impressive product. A tad expensive but worth it in my opinion. I paid like $23. something up here in my area (in Canada).

"Omega3MD: Super Concentrated Ultra Pure Omega 3 Fish Oil Formula
Just 1 per day. Up to 14 times more EPA/DHA than other sources of Omega 3.
No fish smell. No fish taste. No fish burps!
60 Enteric-Coated, Lemon-Scented Softgels. Natural Health product."

No I don't work for them! Just writting it off the bottle. I see a lot of Canada stuff on it so I am not sure if it USA based at all.

Here is their website: http://www.omega3mdhealth.ca

chiming in with my two cents.. i luv, love, wub, Jojoba oil! Pure jojoba does wonders as a hot oil treatment, I mix it with castor oil, pop it in the microwave for about 20 seconds and my hair is like silk afterwards.

For moisture/scalp purposes i prefer coconut and olive because they aren't as heavy. I make my own mixture of coconut, olive & shea butter with a couple of drops of my favorite essential oils and Once again, mix 'em up in container of choice, melt em down and when I get the concoction just right it's a creamy velvety texture of perfection! Does wonders for my hair.

I'm doing a hot oil right now, I didn't even think to heat it up! I just bought both of those oils today.

Thanks Kurlee

The oil looks really interesting and the only thing is that the coconut scent would draw me more to that. Babassu oil is not heavily scented, but if you make products then this is a good carrier oil. That way you can actually add your own scent.

I think that it will probably become more popular since the information says that it is a good alternative to coconut and is becomign more popular

Butterfly,

Let me know how it turns out. I usually cover mine with a shower cap for about 15- 20 minutes.

You know what, I'm such a

I haven't done one in so long that I completely forgot you heat the oil up first!

Vatika, Vatika, Vatika Coconut Oil. There's nothing else like it!! :yep::yep:

Either that, or Brahmi Oil, which contains Coconut Oil. It's the best, especially for ladies like me that have fine hair. Not too heavy. Penetrates and absorbs beautifully! :yep:

I've tried so many different oils (Sea meadowfoam, castor, olive, rosehip, coconut and a few other I cant recall at the moment) and I've found coconut oil to be the best hands down. I'm not to crazy about the scent but hey you cant have your cake and eat it too. I love that it has the ability to penetrate the entire hair shaft and leave me hair shiny as well as soft.

Ok, question ladies....how do you usually apply you oil? I have not done this in soo long....is it better to apply to scalp and them work your way to the ends or what? Please HELP!!!

Coconut oil, for me, is like the Superman of oils. All the other oils I've used are average joe's compared to it .
