i'm feeling the same way...i would have thought my hair was at the perfect length and sooo long maybe a year or 2 ago, but my goal length is 4 inches past brastrap which is also about halfway between brastrap and waist length....i'm soooo wanting those last 3.5 inches

That's funny. My hair is only one inch from brastrap and I don't consider it long either. Everyone tells me it is, but to me it's just not long enough. To me long hair is what Supergirl has.

Well usually the compliments are for the lower part of my body ..if u know what I mean..lol,but men who make comments about that r very rude and ignn" to me.My hubby like smy hair alot..he moisturize it every night bfore to go to sleep...he massages my scalp and play with it..he always tells me that he wants our baby has my hair,cuz is so silky...

One day When I was in a club I was wearing my hair down A guy asked me If I was mixed or spanish I asked him why ..and he said it s becuz of my complexion (Karamel..lol) and my silky hair...I actually wasn t too happy about that statement cuz I dont wanna look european.I have latino(cuban) descendents though.

Hi Isis, I missed your compliment by mistake. My hair is okay for now. I wear braid-outs all the time to keep to moisture in. I get kinda tired of seeing myself in the same hairstyle, but it's necessary right now.

I always got compliments but here is my weird story:

In the prime of my perminess before I decided to transition, I met this guy who seemed nice so we go on a date. Well 1 min. after I get there, he starts with your hair is very pretty and long, is it a weave? I say no. He says are you sure? I say I think I know my hair and I part my hair so he can see no tracks. He asks if he can touch it....I say ok (big mistake) He puts it his hand in gently at first then gets his hands all up in ma roots like he's searching for something. He starts closing his eyes like he's thinking dirty thoughts. So of course I nip that crap in the bud and tell him to back up a taste and get his hands out my hair. I kid you not, for the next hour he told me every other minute how pretty and nice my hair is.

I would say "hey, what do you like to do for fun?"
He'd say, "not much.....your hair is so pretty..."
Then I'd go " hey, how bout those Bulls? (I lived in Chicago)"
He'd go "They're ok, not playing that good this year......your hair is so gorgeous."
I'd go "So what do you do for a living?"
He goes "Oh I work @_______....You hair is so shiny and full, what shampoo do you use?"

Yup, I shut down that date after 1hr.

I dont know if I already posted here but Here's what happend to me. About 15 yrs ago (telling my age,lol!) I was waiting in a bad area of town at a bus and it was turning dusk so I was not happy. This total nasty stranger walked up and at first tried to offer me some "stuff". Then he tries to hit on me and then talks about how long and pretty my hair was. (It was one of the rare occasions I wore it down) This nasty **** proceeds to take out his own comb and before I could jerk away start combing my hair! I jumped back and yelled "Don't you touch me!" and he was all like "aw, baby, whats the matter? You stuck up?" I was so steamed. and scared Sh**less thinking I was about to have to brawl this dude in the middle of nowhere. I told him "You need to just walk your *** on..NOW!" and kept repeating it thru his "aw, baby's". Thankfully the bus came not more than 5 minutes later and he didnt get on. I felt so dirty by his putting HIS comb thru my hair, it totally made me sick and disgusted all the way home.

Ewww! That is so disgusting! I complain about wearing my boring buns and protective styles, but they certainly do come in handy. When you have nice hair that is also long, people think that they have some kind of license to touch!

That stuff will get you straight up hurt with me. I would have been furious too, godzooki.

I remember a couple of years back, I was at the gym on the eliptical machine, mind you this machine was all the way in the front and there were like 6 rows.

All the sudden I get a tap on my shoulder which scared me to death, I took my headphones off, and this guy was like "dam boo your hair looks good, me and my guy have been tryin to figure out if it is real or microbraids."

I was cheezin, but I told him yes it is my hair. I have been told by soo many black guys never to cut my hair(even when it was damaged and thin). I think it can attract men for sure!

I get quite a few compliments when I wear my hair down.

I went to Walmart last week to exchange a shampoo for a conditoner for my mother. I went to the return counter and the girl at the counter had this cheese on her face, she called another black girl over and the girl was looking me up and down. She then asked me if I was indian, or if I was mixed. I told her I was black, and asked her why. She told me my hair looks so good and is long. I then told her I was transitioning and before I had my texturizer I cut my hair off to go natual and had been so for two years. She then quickly said she needed a relaxer. I told her, no she didn't and her hair looked fine. She told me it's really nappy though, she could have fooled me. Her hair looked straight straight to me. She asked to touch my hair and she said it doesn't feel like a weave, and my two tone color, gave it away that it was my hair.

I work at a credit union, and I hate to wear my hair down because nothing but men come in all the time. When I wear my hair down "Kris" always comments on how beautiful my hair is down. He's like "phew, I'm so glad your hair is not in that bun, it looks so good down". This is coming from a 62 year old white guy.

My family didn't recognize me because of my hair. My best friend admitted she didn't recognize me. She said that my hair was beautiful and she was going to start grwoing out her hair.

When I went to my friends sons christening, she asked to feel my hair and said: "girl I have to just feel this hair cause I know it's real and she laughed."

I did a bantu twist out, and I got so many compliments at work yesterday. It looked like the sexy bedhead look.

Ladies. I am dying with both laughter and shock all at once. Men definately do go out of thier way to talk to a woman with long hair. The ocassional "is that all your hair?", "are you mixed?" qusetions are normal but wow, men can get so weird about hair, its scary.

Here's one of my stories. One night I was going to dinner with my boyfriend and just as we were walking in the resturant some guy walking out grabbed my hair and said "hey sweetie". My man (a huge 240 pounds of muscle)immediately turned around about chokes the guy who then starts apologizng, pretending to not have known that I was with my man.

How stupid is that and WHY do people ALWAYS feel the need to put thier hands in your hair! Its gross!

lol...i dont wear my hair down much, but i remeber when i used to wear really long braids...i mean like all the time, and i had a b/f..and he had never seen my hair, and i told him i took out my braids, and im wearing my hair out...
and he said "well u better not come over here looking like sinad o'conner"...

I guess that I can add to this. My hair is a few inches from brastrap. Dang, I am not sure if I will ever get there but here goes. I was off from work sick one Fri and decided to go to Barnes and Nobles which is my favorite store. I walked in and a white male smiled at me. I smiled back and went to the other side and then he moved to the other side. I went to the next row looking at ancient Egyptian and Rome books and he followed as well. I started to think he was following me but then I said I was just be paranoid. I went across the room and he followed. I said to myself this next move will determine if he is following me or not. I next went to the women health issue and the fool followed me. I then looked at him and said if I was not so paranoid I would have swear you were following me and by the way my name is...and then he introduced himself and I walked off. I will not be stalked in a bookstore but I have not wore my hair done in their again. When I told my co-worker they thought I had lost my mind. They could not believe I had introduced myself. You have to know me to know the kind of things I would do.
