I seen a different thread you posted in and read your signature. Here in Europe, it's Nov. 10 (3:27am to be exact!) so I decided to put u on the spot! I'm not doing a BC any time soon, but I will approach my 1 year transitioning mark in May. When I get home, I will do a mini-chip.

So what's it like being nappy for 1 year? Did u have a lot of scab hair? Do you think you've made a lot of progress? I can't wait til I find out my real texture!

Its been a good year....suffered some post traumatic BC ******** syndrome for like two days /images/graemlins/lachen70.gif got over it and decided to suck it up and just focus on health and growth. I unknowingly /images/graemlins/confused.gif began my transition in July 2003, and by the time I decided to BC i had 2 inches of newgrowth and my dumb ass not knowing what I was doing cut beyond my newgrowth /images/graemlins/wallbash.gif, so I had to cut it all down to .5" /images/graemlins/frown.gif.

Everything was a learning process. I didnt even know I was capable of having a spiral curl in my head with out a curling iron lol /images/graemlins/shocked.gif. When I was going to a stylist she pressed the curl pattern out of my natural hair (I didnt know this at the time, but now that I think back my hair couldnt even hold a braid without unraveling), so as my hair grew longer it was suprising /images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I think I had about .5 in of scab hair. I didnt have alot becasue I relaxed my hair every 6 months which was about 6 or 7 times out of all the time I was relaxed(I got my first relaxer at age 17).

I think I've made some progress. I cant really tell how much right now because I havent fully blown out my hair and Im in twists. Plus I trimmed about 2.5" so Im clueless about exactly how much progress I have made. All I know is that I cant see my scalp anymore and Im not bald anymore...thats all that matters /images/graemlins/rofl.gif. Since Im at school I cant post pics. But I will definitely be posting comparison pics next month /images/graemlins/smile.gif. So who ever is contemplating a BC just remember that your hair does grow back, and a TWA is not permanent!!!! /images/graemlins/wink.gif However if transitioning is better for you, then take that route too. I couldnt do it because I was impatient with my new growth and I knew that I would have relaxed again (esp after seeing everyone's silky shiney hair on this board, it can leave you tranced /images/graemlins/love.gif /images/graemlins/spinning.gif). So I did what I had to do /images/graemlins/smile.gif.

If it wasnt for this forum and other members albums, I prolly wouldnt have went natural, and I prolly would have still been clueless about my hair health. /images/graemlins/crazy.gifSo I owe all of my progress to the ladies on this forum /images/graemlins/kiss.gif Thanks guys!!!!!!!! love you /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/clap.gif
