Here is another website selling snoods. I would definitely wear a snood in public. I think it's a cute style. Oldskool but effective protective hairstyles. They come in different styles and you can also make your own for a more personal touch.

http://melaniemoore.com/snoods/snoods.htm (really frikkin expensive but very pretty, decorative snoods)

The melaniemoore lace snoods are GORGEOUS. I'll definitely be buying a few.

Isis, you wouldn't happen to have a picture of that snood from Sally's, now would ya?

VWVixxen, I just got off the phone with Sally's. They never heard of the word "snood" so I had to explain and tell them exactly where in the store to look for it. Sally's calls it:
Rayon Thick Hairnet - Black Rayon
By: Chade Fashions
Stylish, cool hairnet.
Maintains wave and wrap hair styles
Keeps hair in place
Woven rayon allows head to cool easily
Form-fitting

According to the website, it's discontinued but the stores still have it for $1.99 or $1.89 with a Sally's card.

Bumping -- I've been wearing one since my last touch up 2 days ago and absolutely love it!

OOOH - THAT'S WHAT A SNOOD/ CAUL IS!!!! tHAT'S IN THE BIBLE(CAUL) i MEAN I ADMIRE THOSE WHO CAN WEAR IT. I DON'T THINK I CAN.

I didn't think they really were either at first, Kimmy. After getting tired of wearing buns and other updos, I found this to be a nice alternative. The compliments at work on looking so professional were nice too. ;)

Gigi where did you find yours?

Isis...do you have a picture with yours on?

Sally's, but I've been looking at purchasing some from this eBayer: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZooobydoobyQQhtZ-1

Edited to Add: You may want to step up your appearance in other areas when wearing snoods - they can look glamorous (Christina in her "Ain't No Other Man") video or dowdy like "my granny wears snoods." HTH

I just got mine in the mail today and I love it! This will be great. Esp. for the winter.

My hubby got jokes. Talking about I have to wear it right. Not looking like a cafeteria lady.

Here are some more type Snoods, can be worn as a fashion, religious head covering, or protection. These can be found on ebay, made custom, choice of fabrics and colors.

They look pretty simple to make don't they? Some trim and heavy enough outer material with some silky fabric on the inside would make a nice winter hat, get silky enough lighter weight material they are good for a sleep cap, which is what I use mine for.

Deborah on ebay makes them custom to order, but they seem to me simple enough to make at home much cheaper.

That last black one is really cute. A great way to protect the hair in windy, rainy or cold weather.

Yeah, they can't be that hard to make! I may try it ;)

i really like this idea.

i usually rollerset using the ponytail method. - 2 ponytails towards the back with 2 rollers each ponytail. if i had this snood, i could stop out of the house while airdrying.

excellent :)

This is her email adress: [email protected]

I did not save the link to her actual auction on these, as they change all the time. However she always has a variety to offer, if you type in snoods her items will come up. She even does Crochet.

Thanks Softresses:)

I have several of those kind of snoods. They are common here as this is a Jewish neighborhood and a lot of women wear them. They are very nice.

Thanks for posting this!! I needed some ideas for what to crochet to sell at a craft fair. These sites really help!
