other than activator spray or crisco i don't know.
i say spend the extra dollars and wait till one of these vendors that makes handmade stuff has a 20-25% off sale. claudies does this multiple times per year instead of just black friday.
i like from her line:
isha hair cream
murumuru acai butter
quinoa-coffee balancing cream
balancing ends insurance
i make my own oil to seal by using a mix of any of the following unrefined, cold pressed, virgin, and/or expeller pressed oils:
sapote
evoo
evco
jbco or regular castor
meadowfoam
*kukui
*hempseed
the ones with the star contain ceramides and at least one of them must always go into my mix. if you need larger sized bottles of oils from nature with love and mountain rose herbs are great other than heading to a health food store. meadowfoam has been proven to stop moisture loss in skin and hair and stretches the shelf life of oils that tend to go rancid. sapote makes my hair even softer than it naturally is but is very pricey only 2 vendors carry it online in its pure unrefined form but a little would go along way in your mixes.
@IDareT'sHair can give addition suggestions for handmade vendors that have good products and have sales quite often.
SALE. SALE SALE!! Aussie line products including Aussie 3 minute moisture conditioner on sale for 2/ $5!! at Rite Aid. ( at least in NY( For a cheap moisture conditioner I would go with the 3 minute miracle conditioner. I feel like it works better than some of the more expensive conditioners. I got the LAST one on the shelf! I also bought their shampoo, never used it b4, heard nothing bout it, but a sale is a sale so I purchased it to try it out.
The NTM Leave-In can be found in drugstores, or you could buy 3 of them on Amazon for about $20 (more or less). What I do is mix the NTM with water and oil in a spray bottle so my purchase lasts longer. Then I seal w/Dax Pomade...extremely inexpensive, and one tub lasts FOREVER because A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY. I'm a college student (undergrad) & this works for me & my budget
