Anyone had success from leaving rinse out conditioner in the hair?

I recently started doing this after I heard about on naturallycurly. I used motions and sunsilk as conditioners just because I need to get rid of them. My hair came out soft and moisturized with both even though motions had cones in it.

i do. my favorite conditioner to leave on the hair is the generic brand from whole foods: 24/7 something? i love the lavendar conditioner, and when i leave it in the hair, it makes my rollersets come out ever so soft.

and the brand of conditioner has a TON of slip (considering there are no cones), and they smell really nice, and they keep your hair smelling nice for days.

I tried the method with Aubrey's ,but it didn't work. Next I used Elucence and it did smooth my hair out, but it left white curds in my hair. This is not a technique to use if I wash my hair in the morning.

Aubrey's did not work for me either as a leave-in. Suave, VO5, TJ Nourish all work great for me though...

You know I'm going to have to try this now right? Should've slipped out this thread when I had the chance:ohwell:

hehe, you should! and even though it's from whole foods, it's cheap! the big 32 oz bottle's only about 4.29.

they have grapefruit, peppermint, lavendar... and another scent i can't remember.

Yes, I've begun doing this with Kenra MC. My hair comes out bouncy and soft like I just came out of the salon.

I tried it with Alter Ego, and that made my hair look "white". It came out better with Kenra.

Hmm...because Elucence can be used as a leave in also, i think it says so on the bottle (wish i could find mines). But yes it can leave a white residue behind. My stylist uses it alot as my leave in.

I will be trying this today....UMMMMMM, I'm excited! I need something to give me some umffff...lol

So i shall post my results tomorrow....thanks guys!!!:weird:

I'm relaxed and I tried it with the cheapies like Suave and V05 conditioners and I can safely say this is a :nono: for me. This mathod started breaking off my hair like crazy so I quit doing it and went back to my usual daily moisturizers.

I love using rinse out conditioners as leave-ins. I barely even use traditional leave-ins anymore this works so well for me. I use them for around the clock conditioning after washing and as moisturizers too.

Well ladies, I just tried it on my hair after washing it. I used the VO5 freesia conditioner and plaited my hair up in 6 plaits. So far, no curds. I'll let you all know how it turns out Mañana.

I do it from time to time using Tresseme Remoisturize Conditioner. Just during the summer months when the heat makes my hair feel fried. I've had no problems from it, my hair feels stronger like it has more elasticity and of course moisture. I notice less breakage too.

ETA: when I do this, I don't style it all afterwords. No heat appliances at all, I usually pop it up in a bun to let it dry and this usually gives me nice pony tail to rock. I wouldn't imagine blow drying it and/or flat-ironing it with a rinse-out left in.

Hey, Bub!

Yes I do this every time I co-wash in the morning. I find that when I use the Alberto V05 Silky Experience conditioners (champagne kiss, lavendar luster, etc.), I yield the best results. These conditioners are very watery to begin with, so they serve as the best ones to leave in ... at least for my hair.

cosigning:yep:

I do this every morning. I use Naked Naturals. Its the only kind that don't leave my hair hard and crunchy after it air dries. I get it at the grocery store. I haven't seen it anywhere else. I use a shea butter mix to seal and that gets rid of the white look where I put it in. It leaves my hair so soft all day.

I think I'm gonna just stick with this one, plus its not expensive. I'm tired of trying all these different products. I think my Pj days may be coming to an end.:lachen:

I've been doing this consistently for a few weeks and I really like how my hair comes out. I use Suave Humectant conditioner and its so easy to detangle and gives my hair a softer feel.

Okay, so my hair is wild and free with the conditioner in it, but it's always wild and free . I really don't notice a difference in how my hair feels and , but my hair is a bit curlier than usual. I did notice that the conditioner really brought out my texture in my hair. All in all, I will be using rinse out condishes as leave in. It may replace using just water to freshen up bed head.

I wonder how my hair would respond with using rinse out condish in my hair for wash and go's....

Hey girl! Yes, I have recently re-visited this method for my hair as it's inching its way back to its former length. I have been using either Tresemme' Anti-Breakage(which I love for detangling), Organix(just bought it on a whim), and some other thick cheapy conditioner, I need to look and see which brand that was sittin in the shower. Anywhoo, I haven't had any issue so far, as I have gone 2-3 days w/out rinsing, just spraying with my glycerin/aloe vera juice mix, and going about my bizness. It's great for the summer months and helps me to use up some of these conditioners that I will never buy again. I haven't been using any tools, just my fingers to smooth the curls and separate them while in the shower with conditioner in my hair. I don't rinse it out. I just pull my hair up in a ponytail/bun and let air dry, no white residue, no drips from water, the conditioner kind of "holds" the water in. I will probably wear my hair like this for the rest of the summer, I know, I am boring. :)

I do it all the time.

i use cheapies like Vo5, frizz ease, and sunsilk hydrate, Hello Hydration.
it depends on the day. I find it works ok for me, it doesnt really guard against frizzies tho, at least i havnt found a condish that does.

Redken Butter Treat=awesomest creamy leavein rinse out conditioner :D

It really is awesome! I use it after i wash..always..
Next time i was I'm just gonna try using it by itself and then sealing with my butters and that's all..

I do this all the time especially when I'm going through a midweek crisis with my hair. I absolutely hate using gel so I would use rinse out conditioner as a sub. Laid my hair down with ease and my hair would be extra soft and smooth:grin:. I think I only had one bad experience with Christophe Purely Natural Conditioner. I later found out why it had protein in it:nono:. My hair got really hard and dry I was super scared:perplexed so I washed my hair and put only moisturizing conditioners in my hair. So now I am sure that if I am going to do this to read the back of the bottle and be sure it doesn't have any protein in it and I only use the Christophe when I need a treatment.:yep:

I never rinse out my moisturizing conditioner completely. My hair is extremely easy to detangle and is much more moisturized as a result. :yep:
