I tried the method with Aubrey's ,but it didn't work. Next I used Elucence and it did smooth my hair out, but it left white curds in my hair. This is not a technique to use if I wash my hair in the morning.

I've been scared to try this, even though I could use the moisture. I think it would make my scalp itch.

You mean using a regular conditioner as a leave-in?

I always do this, I use PM instant moisture or EQP Intense. Just a little though or its bad :nono:

Yup, I do it with either cheapies or Elasta QP IFC - you have to be surprisingly light-fingered with it - it's the only time I actually use a 'dime/quarter' sized amount of stuff.

Yes I've had success with it. Maybe you're leaving on too much or try another brand. I use any Suave conditioner.

I do this sometimes with Elucence MB or Joico Body Luxe conditioner. At final rinse, I don't rinse out completely, just leaving a little in. :yep: Works great when I need a little extra moisture. Like Determined said, just leave a little in.

Hey, Bub!

Yes I do this every time I co-wash in the morning. I find that when I use the Alberto V05 Silky Experience conditioners (champagne kiss, lavendar luster, etc.), I yield the best results. These conditioners are very watery to begin with, so they serve as the best ones to leave in ... at least for my hair.

Something like that only works for me if I use watery cheapie conditioners like V05. Anything thick is a no-no with this technique on my hair.

I will try the cheapies then.

Exactly what does it do for your hair, ladies?

By leaving these rinse out condishes in, are you noticing fragility of the strands?

I wash some of the conditioner out but not all. Does that count? Works fine. Hair is always soft and feels well moisturised.

I do this all the time. It works better than leave-ins. I can do it with any conditioner (cheap or expensive). My hair loves it.

I've had much success using this method here....squeezing it out is what makes the difference. I do a a touch more to the ends after squeezing it out and my hair is pretty perfect. I'm using Elucence right now but i've used herbal essence, vo5 & suave...I also tried it with Aubrey conditioners and have had great results. I notice I have a bit more definition and lots of moisture with less product. I'm not even using my standard leave-in right now cause I don't need it. In the winter that probably will change though. THe only thing is i shampoo more often (once a week) cause my scalp gets itchy. I don't use anymore conditioner than normal and I detangle only once a week and my hair is doing well.

Yes. I use Mane N Tail. It says on the label it can be used as a leave in or rinse out. It leaves my hair soft.

I've also tried suave and Aussie with success.

Yep. I pretty much co-wash daily, I wash with the conditioner, rinse, then put some back into my hair and distribute throughout my wet head...top that off with a dollop of castor oil. I shake my head to remove as much excess water before I get out of the shower...and drip dry in a puff. No towels on the hair:nono:. My hair is moist and healthy.

I swim at least twice a week now, so I shampoo with my kids swimmers shampoo and deep condition on those days...I don't have build up.

I was scared at first, but for the past two weeks I've been applying a dab of conditioner as a leave in after co-washing and my hair has been great. It dries much smoother.

I will try the cheapies then.

nope, just softer shinier hair with more drop in it. my hair dries like it looks in my avatar instead of resembling a TWA.

ITA...i love to touch my hair after it has dried from a cowash.

I tried this once with Pantene Hydrating Curls after I saw it on biracial.org. It defined my curls nicely, but it got really hard and crusty afterwards. After I figured out my hair doesn't really like cones, I tried it again with Giovanni 50:50 and it turned out great except I had white gunk in my hair til it dried...so the next time I used less and it was perfect...nice and soft.

I use regular condtioner as a leave-in everyday....as long as it doesn't have any cones I'm good. :yep:

Just a Note: Plopping rids the excess white residue/foam from the hair after applying product to wet hair. If I apply something like Elucence or PM The Conditioner, it foams up. After plopping with a t-shirt for a few minutes, the white foamy stuff is gone. Works like a charm.

I've been leaving conditioner in since I went natural. I think I read about it somewhere probably naturallycurly. But, after I have applied my conditioner + oil, I just thrown on my scarf. 10-15 minutes later it has soaked in. I like Giovanni and Joico conditioners. *sometimes I add alcohol-free gel on the outer layer of my hair to tame the frizz, I bun*

I do it everyday after washing it. I use Pantene Pro-V Relaxed and Natural. It leaves my hair feeling moisturized, soft, and strong. OH....Plus it leaves my hair smelling wonderful!

Yes! I use Giovanni Smooth as Silk, with some Eco Styler, tie my hair back with my scarf to set it, when I take it off my hair is set, soft, moist, and defined for the day!

I co-wash every morning with a cheapie, and leave in Giovanni Smooth As Silk. I like this one better then Giovanni Direct Leave In....
